96RAF
@HRMS Although there is a variety of steam loco sounds there is nothing much for diesels. Could us poor non sound loco people have some horns (single and double) please.
RDS
@RAFHAAA96th I agree, that would be good. Could I suggest that you add this request into the 'Desirable Features' thread as well.
St1ngr4y
Have a search on the Internet - there are sites where you can download sound files for free. I recently downloaded a couple of horn sound files for a Class 101 DMU and also one of the famous chime whistle of an A4 pacific. Also, a friend of mine recorded some station announcement files for me for things such as times and destinations. Ray

RDS
@PJ_model_trains I don't think you can load them into the sound chip. The ones I have used in the past have just been to play via RailMaster and I think that is what Ray is referring to.
St1ngr4y
@PJ_model_trains RDS is correct. These are sound files which are played by the Railmaster software (usually in a program) through the speakers of the computer. I have my computer speakers located under the baseboard below the main station, so when trains arrive (under program control) the program can play sounds like doors banging and station announcements about the train etc. Ray
idlemarvel
This site has hundreds of sound files: http://www.brdw.co.uk/sounds.html Virtually every diesel, DMU and EMU you can think of. Most files come with a TXT file that tells you where and when it was recorded. They are in MP3 but you can convert them to WAV easily enough, see: http://www.brdw.co.uk/tools.html You can then invoke them to run under program control. Cheap way of providing sound backing track as your class 20 trundles across the scenic sections of your layout!

And this site offers FREE software for the private user to store and edit sound files. http://www.amodelrailway.co.uk/sound.htm
