gilbo2
When trying to deregister HRM so I can move to a new computer I get error; "Unable to verify the activation key - 550 161EA*********: the system cannot find the file specified 12003" Any clues whilst I wait for HRM support to get back to me? RDS
Is your computer connected to the Internet because it needs to be to communicate with the Hornby system.

RDS
@dgilbert2 That is unfortunate because that would have been a simple fix! Is the correct serial number of your RailMaster showing in the window that appears when you press the ? to de-register. De-Registering is normally quite a straight forward task and I have done it a few times (and back again) to switch from one PC to another. All I can suggest now is that you confirm that RailMaster is working perfectly on the original PC, then close it down and switch everything off. Then try again. Graskie
I solve a lot of Elite/RailMaster conflicts by doing just that, RDS.
gilbo2
HRM support have deactivated my licence from their end so fingers crossed for the new computer on Christmas Day! I needed to add HRM to Firewall and Antivirus exclusions to ensure trouble free deactivation apparently.
Fishmanoz
If that was the problem on your old computer, you'll need to make sure it doesn't get in the way of activation on your new one either.
Graskie
I never had that problem, I must admit. I thought such security programmes were giving me a bit of gip with RM at one time, but no.
Fishmanoz
It depends on what antivirus you use Graskie. Norton is one of the worst for that sort of thing.
