239507
Have Hornby ever produced a loco named Margate as celebration to the home of Hornby? If so what was it,and any other details. I am sure I saw one some time ago in East Kent Models (sadly now closed) or was I dreaming Best wishes to all>
walkingthedog
Don't think so. It would have to be one of the small 0-4-0 tank locos and I don't recall seeing one.

The son of Triangman
If my memory serves me right a Holden 101 class tank loco was produced in Green with white Margate lettering on the tank sides in the early 1990's. They are exceptionally rare.
The son of Triangman
Twas a long time ago and a tiny mention in our records suggests it was to commemorate the Margate factory which was still running. It was in the "Super S" style lettering used on the "Super S" Holden 101 tank loco. Colour dark green R number unkown.
LCDR
No, there was not a public school called Margate. The nearest was St. Lawrence, near Ramsgate, after which 30934 was named. walkingthedog said: Was there a Public school called Margate?
