Graham1
Hello and I'm sorry if the heading sounds confusing but here's the problem. I have a loco with an unknown DCC address (don't ask!) and I am trying to figure out how to change this 'unknown' address so that I can reprogram it with my Hornby Select or even if this is possible. It appears from my little use of the Select and reading of the manual that it assumes that all decoders are set to 03 but you have the ability to change this address. The thing I do know is that the address of this particular loco is not 03.So can anyone tell me if I can get the Select to recognise the loco so that I can give it a 'Known' address - is there a function on the Select to just zero the decoder and start again.Sorry if this sounds so basic but I'm not used to using the Select as a DCC controller.Any help much appreciated.Graham
poliss
Did you just buy the loco or did you just forget the address?
Graskie
You don't neccessarily need to know what the current loco ID is. Just program it to whatever number you want, subject to the lower limitation in numbers compared to the Elite. Then try to run it. With luck it should work. Graham1
Oh OK, so if I place it on the programming track, 03 automatically appears as the default address, change that to whatever address I want it to be (within reason) and press select again - is that correct?
