PJ_model_trains
Of course it's the real mcCoy. It's available on Amazon By the shed load. And eBay by the wagon load ;-)
PJ_model_trains
If you insist on using cleaning fluid, then it's much easier just to pick up some lighter fluid from your local shop. Cheaper too. Lighter fluid is more inflammable! My layout is on the small bedroom... don't want any bright sparks!
PJ_model_trains
I know but it's available mail order. And delivered to the shop to sell! But by specialist courier (probably)
walkingthedog
It may be available, but it's prohibited to send through RM. It should only be sent via a specialist courier. That's why I aked if you meant RM. Amazon and Ebay only use RM for certain products, most is sent by courier. This also goes for a majority of mail order firms. My latest loco arrived from Liverpool today by courier.
poliss
Lighter fluid (Naptha) isn't as flammable as IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol). I used to work with 40 gallon drums of IPA. All containers had to have anti-static straps attached to them. Unlike lighter fluid, the flames from IPA are invisible, so you won't know you're on fire until after you're well done. ;-)

Thats the issue poliss. It is prohibited to SEND through the post. We are not selling. But a massive amount of companies are sending using Royal Mail. poliss
Would you be happy if there was a fire in a sorting office caused by the IPA you ordered, and serious injuries or even death resulted from such a fire? That's why these items are prohibited. A reputable firm would indicate it would be sent by courier.
walkingthedog
I've never received anything flammable via RM. A few years ago when something was sent by 'post' it meant Royal Mail as that was all there was. That's why I queried it. Post can mean dozens of companies today. poliss
You have to have a copy before you can get a divorce. (Voice of experience speaking.)
walkingthedog
But I've got an original. Don't think I'm getting divorced. I don't really understand why you asked.
poliss
It's a flammable item WTD. Have you been at the Xmas liqueur chocolates already?
walkingthedog
So are letters. I actually typed inflammable but iPads tend to decide what you mean rather than leaving it to you.
PJ_model_trains
What you mean or what you say, or for that matter what you think you said! Is another question I think! . As for items posted, especially a marriage licence or was it divorce papers or even decree nisi papers, I would say poliss has been burnt some where along the line. Absolutely!!! ;o)
PJ_model_trains
I have been married for more than 39.6 years. (not that I am counting LOL) . JON NEWBY
Hi Im new to modeling and want to fit a dcc decoder to a 040 Blue Thistle from the Highlander set, Ive seen the instructions and opened the train and there is not a lot of room!!! Does anyone know if the smaller 4 pin decoder X9659 would be suitable, in the 'shop' it says for 060. any help gratefully received. thanks. Fishmanoz
If I have the number correct, the X9659 is just a variant of the R8249 with only 4 wires and a 4-pin plug on it, very little different in decoder size.I've had no trouble getting 8249s into 0-4-0s so far. 2e0dtoeric
Back to the track cleaner and IPA. I used to work as a courier, and the H+S rules say that 'small quantities' of flammable/caustic/explosive/etc products may be carried IN SUITABLE CONTAINERS.We had a load of fireworks through, once, which is why I queried their presence in a vehicle. How they get around 300 'small' packages in the same space is another matter!
The son of Triangman
The standard Hornby pug is no problem for fitting with a standard Hornby decoder, it's tight but if you place the decoder carefully it can be done. Note I have left the ventilation holes of the motor clear./media/tinymce_upload/DSCN0967_zps056455f81.jpg
