Wayne_the_Pain
Is there a way of actively cooling the eLink? We have been having a pretty atrocious Summer here in Brisbane, AU and my poor little eLink is really noticing it - there is a slight burning smell coming from the rear vents. ModelerXYZ
In England where I live, we would need some heating so that it doesn't freeze in winter.
Fishmanoz
If you can stand it, the chances are the eLink can too. It may well be the smell is from overheated dust rather than the electronics on the blink. You could use a small fan pointed at it if you are concerned. 96RAF
How about parking it on one of those poundshop laptop cooler stands. Problem is I think they are USB driven, so would need a feed from the pc/laptop or a wallwart.
2e0dtoeric
If there is room, install a small computer fan to extract the hot air, and drill a few holes in the underside near the front, to help with cooler? air inlet!
96RAF
Someone on RMWeb had posted a picture of the internals of an eLInk but his posting has been deleted in toto as they claim he must have infringed the eLink/RM licence in back-engineering the thing to make it 'work better'.From an internal view of the device it should be possible to work out where you could connect to for either a 5V or 12V fan.I would think the power supply section is much the same as the Elite and I found both 5V and 12V in there to hang my screen backlight on.
