pidge456
Hi all, can anybody recommend somewhere where I can send loco's to be chipped or mended. I have an analogue loco which I unsuccessully tried to convert and a DCC fitted loco which isnt working well. I'm not very knowledgeable about doing this myself so am prepared to get it done professionally. Does Hornby have a service?
Chrissaf
With regard to the repair part of your question: I believe "Peter's Spares" is a registered Hornby Service Centre undertaking repairs and decoder fitting. Pretty sure they do other brands as well. I'm sure there are other repairers, and I daresay further replies will mention them. I've had a Hornby repair done by PS and I was more than happy with it. If only needing decoder fitting as opposed to repairs then there are many such service providers to choose from. http://www.petersspares.com/ Admin edit: While Peters Spares do a fantastic job, we do not use them to do any repairs that are sent to us. Even during busy periods, all repairs are carried out by our Repairs team.

Woody52
With regard to your loco that isn't working well give the wheels a good clean and ensure the track is clean. This can improve the performance a lot if either or both are dirty.Peter.
