  1. After watching Hornby a model world. It appears that Hornby are plowing money into TT scale model railways. At the expense of new model development at their other brands? Here I go again no Airfix Queen Elizabeth carrier but a TT scale model of the Flying Scotsman and coaches and track etc. I'm sure the launch costs of a totally new model railway scale. Out weights a couple of new Airfix model kits. Seems plastic kit scale modelers are the poor relations of the model railway fraternity
  2. Hello Tim, Just something I overheard on the Airfix stand at Telford. The staff were saying it was far too large to produce in 1/350. And the previous models that had been displayed were scratch built from different kits from different plastics. Also it's not commercially viable during these times. So we will be treated to classic ship releases from the sixties I suppose Regards Dave
  3. Pease excuse my yearly rant. I expect no new Queen Elizabeth carrier again in 2023. It's such a tragedy after are much respected and loved monarch has passed away. Surely it would be a fitting to have the Royal Navy flag ship modelled in her honour even in 1/700 scale. But I suppose yet another Spitfire is going to be newly kitted again. If Airfix is going to as usual produce aircraft kits a Jaguar GR3 or a new Typhoon GR4 would be welcomed. I'll as usual have to wait for a foreign manufacturer to produce a model of Q E class carrier.
  4. I have been banging on ever since Airfix displayed the model of HMS Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carrier at Telford, when are they going to produce the kit? I have just realised after looking at the Hornbys new train realases this year. That Airfix is the very poor relation of the brand. Locomotives costing £300 plus! Apparently railway modellers have deeper pockets than plastic kit modellers. Hence less new realases for Airfix customers. Any comment Simon?
  5. No Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carrier again. Airfix are once again committed to produce even more Spitfires. Another year of so called classic ship kits. Come on Airfix how about it,ship modeler s need new kits as well you know! Disappointed yet again Dave Evans.
  6. No ships again! "Worth the wait" not for ship modellers. Not even classic releases. Funny how other manufacturers can make new ship kits. So they must sell. Very disappointed Airfix, QE class aircraft carriers not even on the horizon. Good job the real things are.
  7. 2021 " well worth waiting for" not for ship modellers. Funny how other manufacturers can produce British ship kits yet the only major British kit manufacturer can not. Let down badly again. Dave Evans

  9. Sad to see no QE or POW included in the 2020 catalogue. Two new British aircraft carriers and no British manufacturer prepared to make a kit of them. Was the vote at Scale model world an early April fools joke. Feel so let down, by Airfix.
