  1. I had an issue with one of my new cars, self-inflicted unfortunately, and I asked a question of Scalextric Customer service. I will be a critical as the next person but I have no criticisms at all. They were brilliant. Especially Christian who dealt with my query. Friendly, helpful, great communication, went out of his way to help - really, really outstanding. Well done and thank you.
  2. Even though it's just until the summer, so there is more to come, overall a bit disappointing, not much new but re-liveries of existing cars. On the other hand as I only do British GT (nothing there yet) and BTCC ..... The Duckhams Sierra - Brilliant, I've been after one for ages. No need to buy an old model and change the chassis etc now. The Fina Sierra - looks very good. Might suggest this to the boss for my birthday. The Broadspeed Anglia - Brilliant, no need to buy a resin or 3D print and go through the hassle of fitting chassis and painting. Also, might we expect a re-livery of the Mk1 Golf - they raced in British Saloon cars in Group C. Perhaps the Demon Tweeks Golf driven by Alan Minshaw in 1983/84? Pre-orders are in.
  3. I have just checked the hundreds of images on the internet and you are correct. Also, it is being sold as "Patrick Motorsport Richard Longman 1979" and it clearly is not. Apart from some obviously deliberately missed decals, like Nick Swift, it is decorated as it was driven in the Gerry Marshall Trophy Race at Goodwood in 2014. After the televised and continued emphasis on accuracy for Airfix and Hornby, why is this not applied to Scalextric?
  4. It's in stock at Pendle. Mine should arrive this coming week.
  5. While having a break from decorating and checking reviews on YouTube I came across a well-informed review by SlotR of this Scalextric Car. He compares the Scalextric Car with photo's of the original car. It's worth looking at. Bearing in mind the attention to detail claims by Hornby on the TV series and how good other cars are, I would be interested in seeing a response about this one.
  6. Some great cars, and pre-orders have gone in. However, the way things are at the moment, I've no idea when they will arrive. A great as the Mk 1 looks, I would like a Mk II Jag, one that actually raced in Saloon cars. The BTCC and Brit GT cars are ruining my marriage - she cannot understand how I need to have them. Getting them delivered to work and sneaking them in the house seems to work though. I think Scalextric may have blown it with the Landrover. A little bit extra effort and they could have tapped into the lucrative "off-road" market. If they had done it with a drop arm guide and suspension ........ I suppose a few will be bought and aftermarket chassis fitted. An opportunity missed. I realise that costs are rising all round but Scalextric cars, at £53.99, are priced so that a post free Slot.it car, with the much superior quality parts, costs about the same. Various claims about the different types of buyer are just excuses. There is a large market for quality slot cars from those who race as well as "play" and Scalextric continue to miss that boat. Still, some great cars for 2023.
  7. Got to agree with Ian. Looks really good in that livery
  8. BTCC 850's, estate and saloon.
  9. As far as I am aware Scalextric never bothered to make a Jaguar F1 car. I wanted one so - an ebay McLaren MP4-16 modified and repainted with Patto's decals.
  10. I have downloaded "LapTrax" on to my mobile phone and android tablet. Seems to work pretty well. And it's free.
  11. I mostly collect and race BTCC and British GT cars and I would really like to see more of these. For example: Hillman Imp - the George Bevan car looks great Rover SD1 - any livery Ford Escort Mk 2 - any livery Ford Anglia Triumph Dolomite Volvo - the iconic estate Mercedes A Class - looks great in the Wix and Laser Liveries McLaren F1 GTR - The two Lazante Motorsports Flux/Ulrich liveries look great More modern McLarens, Lamborghini's, Posrches, Nissans, etc etc.
  12. As more of the older BTCC or Saloon cars, the Rover is a must.
