@Fishmanoz : Ah - it seems I am indeed misunderstanding the problem. I had not realised that any changes made to CVs within the HM DCC app itself would be "permanent" on the decoder. I will go away and try this out - thanks v much for putting me straight on this. Regards, Alasdair

laughing Steve I "hear" what you say, but one of my locos runs "in the wrong direction" within the DCC App, and I don't think I can stand it doing so much longer! However if purchasing a controller to enable me to do what I want is more expensive than I am prepared to pay, I accept I will have to grit my teeth and so forth....... Thanks, A

On my TT layout I use the HM DCC app on iPad via Bluetooth, and am very happy with it. I gather that to change any of the CVs however I will have to acquire a "standard/regular" DCC controller, as the CVs can't be changed in the HM DCC app itself. So can anyone recommend the cheapest/simplest controller for me to buy so tht I can change CVs please? If there is another way for me to overcome my problem, I am all ears! I am not sure where this thread is, but I can confirm that I have two pairs of points (i.e. 4 points) wired up with 2 points connected to a single port on the HM6010 - this works very well for me. I use the HM DCC app and would not want to change. I use the Rails Surface Mounted point motors (Rails being Rails of Sheffield) - they come in packs of 5 - I have 10 of these connected via HM6010 units x 2 and am very pleased. I will almost certainly be purchasing another HM6010 and pack of 5 point motors for my layout. Like some others, I am too ancient and decrepit to go burrowing around underneath my layout, and am content to live with the motors "above ground" for the simplicity of things. This may have nothing to do with it, but have you tried switching the Bluetooth connection (within the Settings in the DCC app)? The choices are Standard or Legacy I think. As I say, this may not be the problem, but if nothing else works may be worth changing this setting just in case. Good luck with getting it sorted. Regards, A

@96RAF - thanks for the clarification. I like the idea of a turntable or reversing loop there, but do not know how difficult it would be to sort out the wiring etc. for change in polarity or whatever. May well wait for some considerable time until I have the left hand side and main circuits all running and then see what takes my fancy. Regards, A

@ds - not sure what will be there yet - maybe something scenic, or possibly goods yard with loading bays for animals and coal/warehouse stuff. I plan on getting the left hand side and main loops working first.

I have most of my layout connected - some bits of track and points still awaited - attached image hopefully should show it; is basically 3 sides of a square, or "n" shaped. I would like a turntable on the right-hand side, however I do not have the skills to make or adapt an OO or N gauge one. So might need to wait until Hornby (hopefully) make one. I guess my other alternative would be to have a "reversing loop" (I think this is what it is called, but may be wrong!), again on the right hand side. I have never had/used a reversing loop - are they sensible? Should they be avoided? Are they simple to set up/control? All/any comments/help/criticisms gratefully accepted. Regards, Alasdair
