  1. The annoying thing is, I looked a little earlier, and it seems that the LNER built seven six-wheeled tankers for Express Dairies to operate in East Anglia, so they'd be perfect; but that means going through Dapol.
  2. well, I was looking on Hattons' site, and they have a few marked up for IMS, which I'm guessing means "Independent Milk Suppliers" or something like that. Would they work?
  3. Would you suggest anything to sort of 'bodge'/fake it? Maybe some LMS/Southern/GWR, or at a push, even early BR vans?
  4. It's basically a question of what I can find; there aren't many model shops left in NZ, and the rate of exchanges for online shipping are borderline ruinous. And that's before you get into the fact that swapmeets have been dying out for years. And on top of that, mainly for preference I'm wanting it to be pre-war LNER, as that's what I model; though, I suppose I can (albeit reluctantly) accept LMS stock too.
  5. It also occurs to me, even without milk tankers, I could probably bodge up a rake using some of the stock I already have; so far for this milk train I've assembled one Railroad "N.E." liveried closed van (out of the four I have), two ventilated vans from a competitor, a full-length passenger brake, one of my two LNER liveried CCT vans, and a brake van, to be hauled either by a D49/2, or a rebuilt "Claud Hamilton". Is that enough vans, or do you all think I could add a couple more of the RR closed vans, or my other CCT to it?
  6. So, alongside wanting to kitbash some of my old vans, I'm also thinking of getting some six-wheeled insulated tankers for a dedicated milk train on my layout, and the other day, I saw a video showing professionally exhibited layout, where one of the trains running around was indeed a milk train- made up of a brake van, a full length passenger brake, some CCT wagons and closed vans, and several milk tankers pulled by an LNER K3 mogul. I'm gonna eyeball that as the right sort of train length, but since I don't have any actual milk tankers in my set, where would you suggest I look? And which liveries should I look to getting?
  7. So then, you're saying that I should just get something to remove the number, and a decal sheet to repaint the number?I'm not really sure how I'd make it look like the wagon has had the plank replaced or such.
  8. I've got a bunch of the Railroad "NE" box vans that I was thinking of working over to look more realistic; I've seen the various videos about weathering and such, but I have something slightly ambitious in mind for one of the vans. In my head, a clumsy porter accidentally banged his heavily laden trolley against the side of this particular van, knocking a large chip of wood off of the side (and coincidentally partially removing one of the numbers painted on the van body). My question is this; would you expect a van that had been damaged like that to remain in traffic, and the chip either painted over or just left exposed? Or would it have been removed from service for repairs?
  9. ...Your links all lead back to this thread.
  10. I was looking for some clean (and preferably large) pictures of Gresley A1's and A3's in Works Grey, preferably in LNER pre-War condition, to get as references for a project I'm planning. Can anyone help there?
  11. Got me some new stuff today; some very old Noch HO-scale diorama sets for a park and a garden plot- they date from '07, and haven't been in production for years.
  12. Hey guys; was just wanting to check something; last November I placed a pre-order for the LNER liveried "Rebuilt Claud Hamilton", and the page for it says it's supposed to come out next month. What I wanted to check was, how accurate do you think that will be?
  13. This morning I got that B12 and J52 I ordered last week from Hattons. It had an unexpected surprise; the B12 had one of those tenders that makes a 'chuffing' sound as the wheels turn.
  14. I ordered some second hands from Hattons last night; a J52 and a B12.
  15. If you mean as in a physical, "Went to a shop and bought it" acquisition, then it was a Railroad NE covered wagon and a "Track Expansion B" pack But if you mean, the last thing I spent money on, I went to Hatton's website, and got a bunch of stuff.
