  1. I certainly hope so. But Brunel’s fan club might want some chocolate and cream first
  2. Sam’s trains on YouTube has just posted one of his comprehensive reviews of the Pullman coach. Good review but I do think it deserved a slightly higher score
  3. I managed to get a very good condition but 2nd hand Roco 1:120 turntable but tbh I think it’s a bit on the small side as my Blink Bonney’s buffers over hang. I don’t think a coronation class would fit. The good old Triang TT fits an A1 just fine though, I’ve got 2 of these but unfortunately without the motors, although all the contacts work so I think I’ll use good old “handamatic” until I can sort out a motor and scratch build a hut to cover it. Funny thing, the footprint is about the same. I’ll be putting one on Facebook soon.
  4. Following on from @david_watts1 inspired idea I’ve swapped my three carriages bodies from my Scotsman set out with three chassis from the lit ones. These 3 coaches have the bodies of “Brake 65, Plato & Zenobia” but without lights.
  5. Do you fancy putting a buy it now option on the listing? I’m assuming the one on eBay currently is yours?
  6. One day, sometime in the distant future, the 1st batch A4’s with the upside down whistles will be worth more to collectors 🤣🤣🤣🤦‍♂️
  7. 14k? Blimey! I’ve just seen that an anti-TT type chap has commented on Simons Shed’s YouTube channel asking why he’s bothering with this “novelty from Hornby” 14’000 new TT fans looks like a good answer.
  8. I’ve sent them a message asking for permission. BTW there’s a post on their own Facebook private club page by a customer explaining how and what he did to get Metcalfe kits for his O gauge. Up until now they haven’t put him up against a wall to be shot.
  9. I very much doubt that. I’ve bought and paid for the kit from them. They actively support and even promote customers re-working their kits. It’s been done before, plenty of older OO kits have been reproduced in N this wayLast but not least, I won’t be financially gaining in anyway, in fact it could be argued that it might promote further sales of OO products. But, after saying all that, I do honestly appreciate your concern 😁
  10. Just ordered a Metcalfe OO double engine shed which I'm going to scan and reduce down to 1:120, print, then apply to a thin card. Wish me luck
  11. Yup, I’m still waiting as well. I hate reading pdfs
  12. “Cock O’ the North” P2 in LNER war time black. with longest train of coal trucks that I can afford!
  13. Ive got a feeling this is just a quality control issue at the manufacturers and hopefully someone’s doing something about it (as well as the upside down whistle) The catalogue photo has it flush & the photos I’ve seen of the locos with stepped cabs clearly show gaps at the bottom of the cab. when mine arrives I will be taking it apart straight away to rectify it.
  14. I agree with pretty much all that’s already been said on this thread. I’m certainly hoping this scale is here to stay. TT1:120 is wholly and specifically the one reason for me coming back to the hobby now as a 50 something. And now having received my “Scotsman” set (to have something to play with) I eagerly await the delivery of the sound fitted 4 locos, 1 set & 9 rolling stock that I’ve preordered later this year! oh and of course the HM7000. As for YouTube? I’ve cancelled subscriptions with the haters and found others to replace them for my viewing fixes such as Sam & Simons shed. Basic but fun. As for the future? I’m praying for a “Cock O’ the North” (LNER livery of course) oh & PS obviously Hornby needs to get on top of (& I’m sure they are) some of the minor quality control issues, but all of the minor faults that have been so highlighted on social media I’ve experienced but also fixed with very little effort. I guess some people just like a moan.
  15. Thanks for the replies chaps, some good info. (I do wish this forum system would give us notifications of replies) As for Metcalfe N gauge stuff, I was already thinking some of the non trackside buildings such as the church (which I’ve just built) could work away off in the distance.
  16. I did try searching for “Track Spacing” but gave up looking after 10 pages
  17. Cheers for that. As soon as my Scotsman set turns up (hopefully this week as the money has now left my account) I'll do just that.
  18. ah I missed that poll. Ive started mentioning it. Hopefully in due course they’ll get with it.
  19. Hello all. Ive bought some Peco TT track, as this has always been my track of choice & Hattons prices make its cost comparable if not actually cheaper than Hornby. But I’ve noticed the parallel spacing between turnouts is 36mm rather than the 43mm of Hornby. This was also confirmed on AnyRail. (See photo below) Questions; Which is more scale accurate? Is the wider 43mm Hornby just to help give extra clearance in the curves? Would 36mm work between radiuses on my curves or is too risky? please discuss
  20. Unfortunately @Too Tall it’s not possible to comment on their Facebook page, the only option is messenger (which to be fair they replied promptly and politely) or via email. I’m not calling for any sort of aggressive direct action. I’m just hoping if enough of us ask nicely they might go for it sooner than later. But then as @96RAF mentioned, they have just built a major extension, so might just want some breathing space before they commit to any more expenditures
  21. Metcalfe card kits Easily my first port of call for buildings, as they have such a fantastic range all at good prices and all easy to customise, only problem being no TT 120 of course. I think they just need a little help with being persuaded that this fledgling community of ours is worth their while bothering with. Could I suggest as many of us would be buyers of a TT Metcalfe product start politely lobbying them on their Facebook page? (via messenger) can’t hurt can it? Fingers crossed. 😁
  22. Excellent. I’ll be ordering one then. Although it makes the pre-fitted with DCC sound locos look like good value for money and likely worthwhile waiting for them.
  23. Ah ok. Cheers. I think Hornby could do with reviewing some of their product descriptions. I read this as needing a separate speaker; Part of the innovative new HM7000 range, this Next18-pin Bluetooth® and DCC sound decoder is perfect for getting newer Next18-pin Hornby locomotives working on the HM7000 system. This decoder also has sound capabilities, the perfect pairing to a loco with a pre-fitted speaker or even for locomotives that can fit a small external sugar cube speaker.
  24. Just seen on a Facebook page that Simon Kohlar replied to an email directly today saying that the black insulation tape shouldn’t be there. ps I’ve been so impressed by the low numbers of minor issues with such a brand new product I’ve ordered 2 more locos! 🤣
