  1. Your finished model looks fantastic. You have done a great job. I am looking forward to the new B24H. Hopefully Airfix will do a B24J soon as well. The main difference is in the nose.
  2. The kit does look great. My wish is that Airfix do a late B25D with the waist gun positions and revised tail gun.

Now that Airfix have produced a Sabre how about a few more variants. Lots of scope there. I would love to see a model of the Cruiser Tank Challenger (A30) in both 1/72 and 1/35 to compliment the Cromwell. It is an unusual tank, but I think would be well received. Also, how about a release of the Churchill in both 1/72 and 1/35. There are a lot of variants here for Airfix to do or/and the modeller to convert.

Now that the Beaufort Mk.1 is on the way how about an RAAF version. The first versions built in Australia were quite similar to the British built version, the main and most noticable difference being the tail. I would really like the Australian Beaufort VIII as this was the difinative version built by Australia. Airfix note how important the aircraft was in the Pacific and it is the one model all Australian aircraft modellers are after.
  5. Nice thought on the RAF Coastal Command Versions. There are so many B24 variants Airfix could just keep rolling them out and they would still would not make everbody happy.
  6. I have just seen this thread and, as always I arrive late. I would also love to see a new B24 in particular the J, but also the L & M as these were the ones used by Australia in the Pacific. Unfortunately the boring aluminium colour scheme. Is there a way based on the USAAF production number to work out whether the model is a Consolidated or Ford production?

I was hoping Airfix would do the late model B25-D with waist guns and tail gun similar to the B25-J. I would hope this was not too hard. As an Australian I am hoping later on AIrfix will release the Australian Beaufort. The big difference is in the tail and turret, although early Australian produced Beauforts only has the different tail, the turrets were pretty much the same as the British produced version. New tool Boston and Walrus in 1/72. How about something slightly off beat, like the Vultee Vengeance.
  8. I remember the old Frog kit. From memory not great. One word of warning with doing the Australian Mk. 21, I do not believe they were fitted to be able to carry torpedoes. My reference for this is the excellent Stewart Wilson book Beaufort, Beaufighter and Mosquito in Australian Service.
  9. There is a company called High Planes Models that does a conversion set for the Airfix Beaufighter to produce the Australian version. I have not done the conversion so cannot say how good it is. I merely put it out there. As an Aussie who cannot get enough models of RAAF aircraft from the Pacific Theatre I would love to see Airfix do the Beaufighter Mk. X with RAAF markings.
  10. Looks Good Jeff, I have one of these in my stash and after seeing yours I might give it a go soon, but not with the photo etch. I am not that brave.
  11. As an Australian can I put in a plea for Airfix to do the late model B25D with waist and tail guns. This was the B25D model used by the RAAF in the Pacific and I would love to see this model come out.
  12. As a big fan of the older Airfix kits, and currently only modelling RAAF aircraft of the Pacific Theatre in WW2, I managed to find the old Walrus, Hudson (with RAAF markings) and Kingfisher. The Hudson and Kingfisher are done and I am pretty happy with them. I found some RAAF markings for the Kingfisher at my local model shop. The Walrus is waiting, but I would dearly love Airfix to bring out a new and more acurate Walrus in 1/72 scale.
  13. I would also like to see the Beaufort in 1/72 scale, particularly the RAAF version. The Beaufort is an overlooked aircraft, which is a pity considering the role it played in the Pacific and Mediterranean Theatres.
