  1. Hi, can anyone explain the nuances of the various nose radome fittings for the RAF Merlin HC.3/3A? I’ve noticed at least 3 fits: standard, with protruding antennae with a camera (FLIR?) the black bump version on HC.3A I want to know what these various arrangements are formally referred to as, what their purpose is, and when/why the various fits were used/changed. does anyone have any ideas? cheers, Andy
  2. RAF Buccaneer S.2 with Sea Eagle missiles RAF Jaguar GR.1 RAF Tornado GR.1 with JP233, Paveway, TIALD, Pave Spike, WE177, Sea Eagle RAF Tornado F.3 Royal Navy Buccaneer S.1 B-24 Liberator, any mark, either USAAF or RAF (why not both, like the B-17 releases)(Hasegawa’s is expensive and hard to find) All 1:72 Thank you please
  3. Would the Martlet IV kit need any modifications to be used to build a Martlet I, II, III, V or VI? Or would it be better to use a Wildcat kit for those marks?
  4. Update: The bottle I’ve used does NOT mix well with Humbrol Decalfix. I used a cotton bud to carefully remove excess decalfix and it stripped the paint! Think I might go back to Tamiya X-22 for my clear coats, unless Pledge Revive and Humbrol Decalfix can play nice together? Any experience of this combo @peebeep ?
  5. Hi, I decided to try and use Pledge Floor Polish to gloss coat my models, but have I bought the right stuff? Can anyone confirm? Or provide a link to the right stuff?
  6. Thanks all, will get ebaying 😀
  7. Hi All! Does anyone know what would be required (excluding decals) to convert the excellent Airfix C-47 into a Vietnam War era AC-47 Spooky gunship? cheers, Andrew
  8. B24 Liberator This would be good, especially if they do USAAF and RAF boxings as they did with the B-17G. I’d like a 100 Group Liberator to go with my Fortress III, or an RAF Coastal Command or bomber variant 😀
  9. Hi All! I've been thinking about doing a helicopter rather than plane for a change, and settled on the Royal Navy Merlin in some form. My basic understanding is that there were 30 HM.1s, they all got upgraded to HM.2 and look pretty much identical (except the few with Crowsnest AEW kit). And then the Navy inherited 25 HC.3/A from the RAF, and they've all now been upgraded to HC.4/A. However, I'm sure there's more to it than this! I was wondering if there were obvious differences externally (or indeed internally) between an Anti-Submarine Warfare HM.1 and HM.2 (Crowsnest being the most obvious), and then again between the Commando Transport RAF HC.3/A and Royal Navy HC.3i/4/A? Cheers! Andrew
  10. Plus with 60+ years of service, there's almost infinite livery options for C-135 variants! I was actually thinking 1:72, they'd go well with Revell's monster A-400M. I'm looking forward to their RAF Atlas C.1 rebox later this year :)
  11. And just to throw in my unrealistic options, I'd love a Rivet Joint, Globemaster, Voyager, or especially Poseidon (all RAF)! A USAF KC-135R from Mildenhall would be great too ;)
  12. New tool 1:72 Tornado GR.1 (Revell's nose shape is off), Tornado F.3 (all existing options are inaccurate to some degree), Jaguar GR.1 (again, existing options are inaccurate) would be nice to round off the RAF Cold War jets Airfix are so good at (all 3 V-Bombers, Phantom FG.1/FGR.2, Buccaneer S.2, Harrier GR.1/3, Sabre F.4, Swift FR.5, Lightning F.6 etc). I agree that a Canberra would be good, but I think it should be able to be a bomber nosed B.2, Fighter Canopy B(I).6/8/PR.9, AND a tandem nosed B-57! Get some Vietnam options in there. If not, a rebox of the PR.9 and B(I).8 would be good. Rebox of the Nimrod would be good too! With the 1:48 Buccaneer being Martel (and maybe Sea Eagle?) capable, I hope that can be scaled down so we can have a 1:72 Buccaneer with Martel missiles (12 Sqn and 208 Sqn) :) I also find myself wondering if an S.1 Buccaneer is a possibility?
  13. Thats exactly what I was looking for, thanks! 😀
  14. Yeah, I've got the sheet, Im trying to build it but like to have a photo of the real one 😀
  15. I have done, and checked a number of publications, but no lick 😞I was hoping someone on the forum might be able to help
