Apologies for bumping this thread, but I thought the below merited it: Murdoch on Ebay this week listed as sold for £2,250. (www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264904270320) And someone else has clearly seen that as there's now another one up with a target starting bid of £2,250.. (www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174493757421) And we thought a few hundred pounds was going too far!! 😮 😮

Club Exclusive Products Available Today
Slornie replied to david_knight's topic in Hornby Collector Club
Having finally got around to ordering the Janus and truck pack via the above offer I can confirm that the other items are now showing on the club page with "Pre-Order Now" underneath the image. Maybe the "Out of Stock" label was the bit that was incorrect and required fixing? I've wanted one of those Janus diesels for a while and having recently received my PLA liveried Peckett from Hornby, I couldn't resist the chance to pick up a matching loco and wagons at such a keen price. -
When will the 2020 free loco be available?

I thought I'd seen something that suggested the new club model was coming quite soon (or at least, much earlier in the year than last time) but I can't find it now. Of course even if that were the case when said un-found reference was published, production and shipping schedules are fickle things! -
Received my copy in the post today direct from Key Publishing at the discounted rate per my Hornby Mag subscription. Only ordered it on Wednesday night so that was pretty sharp on their part! 😆

Hornby 2020 range will be revealed on...
Slornie replied to JeremiahBunyan's topic in General Discussion
Sorry double post, but out of time to edit. Noticed that R3679 (the PLA Peckett) isn't listed in the 2020 catalogue despite still being a pending release hanging over from previous announcements. Curious, but it's still showing on the website here as Due Summer so hopefully my preorder is still valid too! -
Hornby 2020 range will be revealed on...
Slornie replied to JeremiahBunyan's topic in General Discussion
Definitely some interesting products in this year's range! I'm sorely tempted by Rocket and possibly the Hush Hush but am going to try and hold off on pre-ordering but we shall see how long that lasts! Also did anyone else spot the boo-boo on p50 of the catalogue which mentions a TPE Nova 1 in the 2020 range - which is then nowhere to be found! Am I right in thinking it's a slightly different subclass of the 800 than Hornby have produced thus far? Presumably the model has been delayed to 2021 or held back for a mid-year addition (if H do that again). -
Loco Detection availability - Let's start a sweep
Slornie replied to RDS's topic in Hornby RailMaster & TrackMaster
Given LD has been mentioned several times this year in Hornby's Railmaster advertorials at the front of Hornby Magazine - one would hope that it's well on the way to actually materialising! EDIT: Do I have to make a guess now? 22 June 2020. Somewhere near the middle of what is apparently a significant birthday year for Hornby. -
The Bluebell Railways / Hornby The Collector
Slornie replied to JJ73's topic in Hornby Collector Club
The two nameplates reflect how the locomotive appeared on Hornby's stand at the Warley show in 2017. There's a picture in the end of year Engine Shed blog: /media/wysiwyg/12-01-2018/Warley_on_stand-web.jpg -
Why does the Date of the Club Model keep on Moving???
Slornie replied to JJ73's topic in Hornby Collector Club
No email from Hornby yet, but they've charged my payment card and I can see in my account here the order has moved from "Pre Order" to "Processing". 😀 -
Aren't Bachmann's Thomas products closer to OO in scale than HO anyway? Hopefully the updated license agreement also means Bachmann can sell their OO9 products over here as well because I'd quite like to get to get a few of those!

Hornby Select firmware version 1.6
Slornie replied to Trainman1974's topic in Hornby RailMaster & TrackMaster
If the forthcoming v1.6 is a typo it's one that has already been propagated across multiple sources (that I've seen): 2019 CatalogueRMWeb announcements threadHornby MagazineRailway Modeller New features stated for 1.6 (beyond Railmaster connectivity) include CV programming (0-255) and complete track isolation in the event of a short. One thing I do wonder is how this will affect current unsold and future Select stock. After 1.6 is released will there be a new production run of Select's that have the new upgrade pre-installed? And wIll that cause confusion for prospective customers if some controllers come with the hardware fix and others don't? Would retailers (if they wished) be able to send their older unsold stock back to Hornby to have the upgrade installed before re-sale? -
Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?
Slornie replied to The son of Triangman's topic in General Discussion
I'm actually wondering if 'Lord Phil' not being DCC Ready is another factory error. It was definitely listed as DCC Ready in the 2017 catalogue, and was also listed as such on the Hornby website (until it wasn't). As far as I'm aware the J94 tooling hasn't been available DCC Ready before (I know last year's model wasn't), so if 'Phil' had been, as advertised, it would have been the first issue available as such. -
27 & 1/2 Even including the half hasn't helped much! 😛

Desirable features for future Railmaster Software updates
Slornie replied to RDS's topic in Hornby RailMaster & TrackMaster
Did you see RailMaster Support's replies in your Turntable Configuration thread from December? According to that the pause at each road is mechanical in nature but doesn't detract from accurate alignment because RailMaster takes the acceleration and deceleration into account. -

Treated myself to a J50 and J94 at Warley last week; slightly on impulse but as both have been on my "want list" for a while it's all good. -
Loco Detection availability - Let's start a sweep

In the video game industry this is known as Valve Time (Valve is a game developer which now also runs one of the largest digital game stores in the world). Also see Valve on Valve Time. -
I suppose the question is whether Hornby think there's enough demand to make it worth them doing another 1000 piece run (like they did a few years ago with Spencer and Stepney) as part of the next phase of their relaunched Thomas range.
-
Wow. And it's gone even than when you posted it last night! It does make one wonder whether Hornby will do a Murdoch re-run in their relaunched Thomas range Part 2 (1000 piece limited like they did with Spencer and Stepney a few years back?) as he seems to be the consistently most over-valued character alongside Oliver/Toad.
