  1. I have this type of connection on my Pete Waterman Princess Elizabeth. I’m having a job removing it while I service the engine. Is the plug needed for power? Or can I get rid of it?
  2. Hi Atom, Couldn’t resist at that price! I already have Sutherland in both guises so now I have one of each duchess in streamlined, semi streamlined, normal and without windshields. Annoyingly I just purchased Princess Margaret Rose for more than those 4 combined! But it does have a flickering firebox…
  3. I had planned to limit my purchases this year to the Dublo Scotsman but couldn’t resist this bargain. Picked up an End of Steam Black 5 R2686A, Pete Waterman Princess Elizabeth, City of Bristol R2553 and Duchess of Abercorn R3119 all for £100! Bit of a bargain and all models are unused with good boxes. Are they rare models?
  4. When I was youngster, I remember Beatties selling locos for around £50. My first two were a Foster Yeoman 59 and King George II. Seemed expensive in the mid 90’s, but when you consider the modern railroad range, I don’t think the prices are too bad. Although my 85th Mallard, Dublo Scotsman and 6203 have just cost me nearly £750. That does seem crazy and certainly not affordable.
  5. Hi Al, I’m still not sure! My current basic setup is DC but think I’ll go DCC once this Bluetooth system arrives. To be honest I enjoy collecting them. I mainly have LMS and LNER but also have some southern/GWR locos aswell. Plus lots of diesels from the 90’s onwards. No specific theme at the moment until I can get a new house with a dedicated room!
  6. What do people think will be the most popular Dublo version? I’ve gone for the BR model as it’s how I’ve always known it and it appears this one is no longer available for pre sale. First time I saw FS was as a kid in Paignton in 1994.
  7. I’ve just purchased Princess Margaret Rose and I have pre ordered the Dublo BR Scotsman and 85th Anniversary Mallard! One day I’ll get a layout so that I can run them all. I just seem to like collecting!
  8. You can also add the 10% collecter club discount on top, so in effect a 20% discount.
  9. Hi all, I’ve just purchased R30001 Princess Margaret Rose from TMS for a great price. However, I have noticed some retailers advertise a R30001X model. The X model is also on Hornbys website for nearly twice what I paid. Either I got a great deal or I’ve perhaps purchased an older model? I’m thinking the X model is maybe an upgrade? I’ve not seen this before on Hornbys model codes. Thanks!
