  1. Hi all, Can someone tell me where I can get hold of replacment sticker sheets for the Hornby Signal Box R8005 & Waiting Room R8001. Many Thanks, David.
  2. Well I found out what was causing the problem and it was a piece of wire lying paralell in between the rails. Thanks for your help guys.
  3. Last night strange things started to happen on my layout a couple of my loco that was stationary in sidings with tts chips in started to make there startup sounds and lights coming on without selecting them on my Hornby elite controller.
  4. and did this combination of loco's stutter ? No it didn’t stutter it actually run very smooth with no jerky movement nor one motor running faster than the other both set to the same ID and no changing of motor settings of CV150
  5. I have done that with a super detailed HST power car and a Hornby Railroad HST power car with both having a TTS decoder in and it worked quite well running around my layout one pulling and one pushing and did not derail once on both 1st and 2nd radius curve
  6. no the power & dummy cars are both running in the right direction qith headlights forward and taillights on the rear and when you put the the power/dummy in the other direction correct lights headlight forward and taillights rear.
  7. I have other super detailed HST's with the same configuration the TTS decoder is in the power car and a R8249 decoder in the dummy power car and I've tried to do the same with those and swapped out the normal decoder and tried a TTS decoder in the dummy car with the same thing happening runs and stalls around the layout and when I swap the nornal decoder back it runs perfectly around the track. I think Hornby should start doing this if it brings any more twin packs for HST's is to have TTS decoder for the power car only and a normal R8249 decoder for the dummy power car because I dont think you need two with sound as they are loud enough just with one if you adjust the volume or use better speakers with there TTS chips
  8. Both the power car and dummy power car are both on the same address which is 03 I’m using a Hornby elite controller with latest firmware update version 1.44, thank you for any advice.
  9. Hi all, I was wondering if someone can awnser me this question. I recently brought the Hornby Class 43 HST (MTU) decoder twin pack and I fitteded it in my super detalled HST power car and it worked perfectly with the supper detailed dummy HST power car just with a normal hornby r8249 decoder and it ran around my layout perfectly so I decided to swap the normal dcc decoder in the dummy car with the other TTS decoder and it made the power car keep stalling around my track but when I swapped the tts chip back out again and put the normal dcc chip back in it run perfect again. so the question im asking is why this would be?
  10. I use methalated sprits and cotton buds to clean my loco wheels and track on my dcc layout which I find works very well.
  11. I used to run my layout just DC but then I started collecting DCC Ready locos and when Hornby started TTS I brought a couple of the TTS decoders and a hormby select controller to try them out and found DCC was great and now ive fitted decoders to all my locos and brought a Hornby elite and elink and I will never go back to DC operation.
  12. Hi all, has anyone managed yet to fit a Hornby R7146 Class 08 TTS chip and if so how easy or hard is it? i currently have a hornby class 08 super detailed model which has a normal hornby decoder fitted But how easy is it to fit a tts chip in cause of the speaker.
  13. Thanks guys for the advice I try what you suggested Kind Regards David
  14. I’m currentlay using HM2000 other trains run fine only this one runs very slow.
  15. Hi all, i have a HST super detailed chassis power car which is slow running in both directions and I was wondering what the issue could be weather it’s the motor or the PCB or drive shaft and gears, it’s currently DC powered. thanks.
  16. It’s ok I’ve solved the issue the LED1- is the headlights, LED1+ is the common and LED 3- is the tail lights on the HST PCB main board. thanks, David.
  17. please can someone help me with the dummy car PCB and lighting PCB whitch wires control the tail amd headlight also the common wire as on the PCB of the dummy car is LED1+, LED1- and LED3+ so and on the actual light PCB thre are numbers 5, 3 and 6. thanks
  18. I'm currently replacing all my ringfieid motors in my Hornby and Lima locos and using Hornby R8249 decoders and TTS decoders the only issues I've got is jerky movement of the locos at slow speeds until I put the controller to half power also with TTS sound sync. Is there anyway of getting them to run more smoother and sound to sync better. The controller 'im using is a Hornby elite with the most recent firmware available.
  19. Hi all thanks for all your advice, I've had a closer look at the underside of the wagon and it seems that one of the small copper tags have broken off so the problem solved, I've sent wagon back to the seller today for a replacement but when I do get the replavement I will hard wire it into the track as its gonna sit in a sideing and not to be moved. David
  20. I tested the vent van with my select controller first and have not got much out of it just the first sound on the list bit it was intermittent then I tried setting it up in RM with a couple of the function button and got nothing out of the vent van now I've got back to the select controller and not getting nothing out of it now but when I put the van on my test track and let RM read the CV's the chip reads as a Sapphire chip
  21. Hi all, I recently brough the Hornby R6888TTS Vent Van with TTS Sound and placed it on my digital layout where I use a Hornby Select controller with firmware version 1.5 also I have the Elink running software version 1.70 and I could not get any sound out of it? Im wondering does it only work with the Hornby Elite controller as I saw it working in the BBC Four program about hornby and they was using a hornby elite to make it work. do you think I have a faulty one? Thanks, David.
  22. I've got a Hornby select controller and I'm looking into buying the R7135 Railmaster 'Select-a-link' cable when its released in Q4 and in the Hornby 2019 catalouge it says it will only work with a select that has firmware 1.6 installed but my Select has 1.5 installed will I have to return my Select to Hornby for the firmware update or will there be a feature where we will be able to do this our selfs with the cable?
