  1. That's a fabulous looking build and it's great to see it with the white hull and crew - it looks very striking. Very nicely done and thanks to you and your fellow RNLI members for your service. I really should build one of these - I drive past the Llandudno lifeboat station at least four times a day taking my son to school.
  2. Just thought I'd add a few of my small scale armour builds. Matchbox 1/76 Challenger I... Matchbox/Revell 1/72 Abrams... Some weird little 1/72 resin thingy - M577 command post carrier. Matchbox 1/76 Humber Cheers!
  3. Very nice builds All.
  4. That's very nice indeed, I do like a Walrus and that Silver finish is excellent! A very nice one also Richard.
  5. I forgot to be honest, but the flying Tigers Curtis Hawk's did seem to have them - I'll remember that for my next build.
  6. Just normal Hataka thinners - for their water-based paints obviously 😄 I find them pretty good for thinning Humbrol and other water based paints as well.
  7. looking very good thus far.
  8. Thanks all, I'm glad you liked it!
  9. Thanks Andy. I used EZ-line. It's elastic thread used for rigging.
  10. I've been working on this cracking little kit for the past month or so - and great fun it was too. If you've not had a chance to build one, get one. Thankfully I have the USAAF P-40 and the RAF Tomahawk boxings too. 🙂 However I love the Flying Tigers markings on this build, which I think, is my first attempt at a shark-mouth. Brush painted with a mix of Humbrol and Citadel acrylics. not 100% accurate, but close enough given what I had in my paint stash. Clears were Mr. Hobby Super Clear sprays. Cheers all, and thanks for looking in.
  11. No worries @Dominic Thomas - Thanks! 🙂
  12. Oh sorry, the filler on the nose is normal Revell Plasto filler. The PPP I've used on the wing roots and around the fin, and I use it in the same way you do - I find it excellent for filling small gaps.
  13. I managed to get a bit more time on this today and filled the gaps around the fin, fuselage and wing-roots with perfect plastic putty. I've then added a bit of Revell filler to the upper sides of the fuselage where there is a slight step. I suspect that most of this will be sanded off as the fit is really rather good. I also noticed that a bit of the wing leading edge hadn't glued properly, so I've run bit of Tamiya extra-thin down it. Cheers!
  14. @modeling maniac Ah, you know where I'm coming from then = the water based paints really help.
  15. Now that's not something you see often - what a fabulous build and a great looking base - well done!
  16. yeah I can understand that - I'm sure it'll all look good once the paint is on though - the framework should help hide any issues.
  17. Ah nothing like old kit canopies for a poor fit! Looking good though!
  18. @Heather Kavanagh Some cracking work there - well done! Great builds everybody!
