  1. Thank you for all the advice and regular Forum visitors know I NEED a lot of help but none of you are going to believe this. I sorted it myself. Unbelievable ? Yes it is. All I did was to give my locomotive a new number on the DCC Select and load it. All I have to do now is not press F2 to sound the horn. Am I the MAN! Don't all cheer at once.
  2. Hello and help. I use a Hornby Select controller. I have a Class37 DCC fitted with sound. Today I pressed F2 to sound the horn but the horn stayed on! I tried the same tHing with another Hornby Select and the same thing happened. Therefore I think the problem is to do with the locomotive. I tried to reset the controller but it syaed the same. Can one of you clever chaps please help me. Thank you in advance. Cheers, Phil
  3. OK Thank you everybody for your help.'ve just found a Hornby C990 adaptor. Will using it sort my problem? Thanks again
  4. But before I send it off, let me ask a question and, bear in mind, I have no electronics knowledge at all is it possible to get a wall plug capable of more than 4 amps? Does such a thing exist? Thanks again for helping me with this. Cheers, Phil
  5. Thank you everybody. I think I may have to send this to Hornby for repair.
  6. I use a Hornby Select controller which has developed an intermittent problem where it appears to lose power. The display shows what appears to be the bits of some numbers which fade to nothing after a few minutes. I thought it might be a power problem so used another power cable from an old controller but the same thing happened. Can anybody help me, again. Cheers, Phil
  7. Hi, Good morning 96RAF, you and Chris have been brilliant and the reset has worked. Thank you both. I have to say sorry that I 've taken some time to get back to you. You see, I've suffered a stroke and my mobility is pretty awful. Anyway, it's done now but another problem has arrived and that's the sound function. To start the sound I press Function0. I try to press both buttons at the same time. Usually the screen either shows "On" or "Off" but now it doesn't. So I cannot fire up the sound. Any ideas?
  8. OK Thank you Chris. Cheers, Phil
  9. Thanks yet again, I'll do this tomorrow, Many thanks. Cheers, Phil
  10. Hello again, When I turned my Select On the only numbers that came up immediately were 30 followed by 03 followed by 11. I think 11 was the last code I tried to input onto the controller. Any ideas. Cheers, Phil
  11. OK Thank you for that although I'm not sure what it means as I have absolutely no knowledge of electronics. So I'll do what 96RAF has suggested later today. I'll come back for more advice if that fails. So fingers crossed.... Thank you to everyone in this Hornby Forum. The knowledge you have is incredible. Cheers, Phil
  12. Thank you for that. I'll do this in the morning. Cheers, Phil
  13. Hi, I've got a problem with my Hornby Select controller. Yesterday it was working perfectly allowing me to input code numbers for my locos. Today it isn't even powering my DCC locos and it is not allowing me to input code numbers. When I tryto do this the light on the controller flashes 8 times! It won't me to re-input numbers to the locos I have already installed. HELP!
