  1. @Ericm0hff, What a pity, I don't think I've heard it 😛
  2. My pet peeve is when they put those annoyng stickers on fruit.
  3. Sorry R- But to be fair, so was I The milk of human kindness runs deep here. Kev.
  4. C'mon lads & lasses, Let's all get behind Jimyjames and support him and his channel. The guy really puts in the effort & he is a valued member of our community here at the Hornby forum. In no way does he deserve the shellacking he has copped or the lack of support. Maybe some others here with all their experience and knowledge could contribute to his videos in some way too ? Something fantastic could grow from his channel and it supports Hornby too. We should support our own. What do you say ? Kev.
  5. I think you put me on to it Chris ! I just might pick up a couple more whilst they are back in stock. Kev.
  6. The Eze-wire, Point Motor Switch Box is a bullet proof solution for beginers too. It supports five points. The perfect solution and very simple wiring that any new comer can setup. It's also a well made, quality piece of kit. Highly recommended. Kev.
  7. Thank you Colin & Rob for taking the time to not only explain a complex subject, but to also offer your wisdom and advice for my individual layout and signalling needs. So appreciated and I have enjoyed being educated on this. And to all the other great folk who replied. Kev. 😀
  8. This is fantastic infomation chaps. Thanks to everyone for the detailed and interesting replies. And yes, that is my exact layout at present. I'm hoping to extend it soon. Kev.
  9. Thanks John, I'm really starting to appreciate how complex signals can be. Thank goodness I have a simple layout. I just want to get it right. Kev.
  10. Thanks LC&DR, It is a rather complex issue for a complete novice like myself and something I really hadn't given much thought to till recently. Thanks for all that info. It seems like I'm not the first railway modeller to get a bit confused with the nuts and bolts of railway signalling and operations. Kev.
  11. That really is a fantastic webpage. Just what I needed ! Thanks Kev.
  12. Thanks Caiptean, Yes, I realise there is a lot more to it for a novice to understand. That's why I'd like to learn more and get it correct. Your answers so far are a big help. My layout is just the standard Hornby trakmat, 6x4. Not too much going on, but I'd like to get it as close to real world as possible with such a small, basic layout. Thanks Kev.
  13. I've never bothered with signals before and I'm not even sure where they are supposed to go in relation to real life operations. Now I'd like to add some old style semaphore signals, but I'd like some idea where to place them on my layout for realistic representation. My layout is the basic Hornby Trakmat 6x4 Can anyone educate me on railway signals and their placement & uses please. Sorry if this is a stupid question ! :O Kev.
  14. Does anyone know exactly how many of the Railway Children collectors editions Bachmann made ? The certificate just states the number of your set. Not for example, if it was number twenty of only two hundred.
  15. Thanks Gordon, I might just pick this Bachmann set up anyway. I spied one for a decent price. (sorry for that double post btway). Clicked the button a 2nd time thinking it hadn't posted.
  16. I believe the Bachmann set is beautiful, but is missing the rear 'Gentleman's Coach' and one of the others is too long ? Does anyone know if there are any coaches out there that would make fairly close substitutes ? I'd thought about picking this set up, but the coach issues put me off. You'd have thought Bachmann would have got it right.
