  1. Great to hear it's due soon! I'm also waiting for the Class 800 profile. Fingers crossed!
  2. True, but I guess I'm too lazy cleaning the tracks, and since I have them I might as well use them. Haven't soldered anything before so putting something that's not plug and play would be a challenge for me.
  3. I used the enclosure from the HM7000 pack, will add insulation to that as well. The original enclosure looks too small for the power bank, I'll give it another go tomorrow 🙏🏻
  4. I have the PoW as well and I found a way to install the HM7000 with sound and power bank in the tender. You will have to remove the speaker installation mount, it's only secured by some tape so it should be an easy move, then you'll have enough space to put both the speaker and the power bank in.
  5. It's really for future-proofing. I don't have any loco with traditional DCC, but I did get the dongle in my previous purchase just in case. There might be loco and trains which HM7000 doesn't have sound provided, for instance, my Piko ICE 3 and Rivarossi Big Boy, but right now there're still unchipped.
  6. Is there any other DCC Controller other than Hornby's own that support the HM7000 dongle? I have no DCC controller now and would love to know if other options are available.
  7. Great tip here, I need the CV writing capability for sure, I would investigate!
  8. What do you mean? So I get a pre-owned controller and send it to Hornby?
  9. Thank you! I started from DC and jumped straight to HM7000, I'm starting to think I should also get a Hornby DCC select controller with the HM7000 Bluetooth dongle for better compatibility.
  10. I've never done this before and I'm new in DCC. What should I do if I want to set up a double head configuration, for example, a leading steam loco with a supporting diesel at the other end? Much appreciated!
  11. How about trying a single decoder? I really just want a fitting sound pack on HM7000
  12. Hello, I own the Rivarossi Big Boy and I'm wondering if a sound profile is available! Thank you in advance!
  13. Hello all, I recently bought the HM7000 decoder and I linked them to my iPad. I later decided that I want to run them through my android instead so I unlinked them from the iPad. However when I scan with my android the decoder still show up as available for reset. I tried resetting it using its reset code, no success/failure message was shown and I power cycled the loco, but it still only show up as a resettable device. How do I get out of this? Much appreciated!
  14. @Fireman_Ian Very helpful response here! I have only a small portion in R2 so my layout could be fine. I've preordered the 2019 Rivarossi release. Cheers!
  15. I'm tempted to preorder the rivarossi one releasing this year, since I don't have to paid for VAT if I ship to HK, making a brand new BB around £300 without shipping. From eBay there are quite a few BB listing and in very different price range too. How do I know if there are built by hornby?
