I bought a Ron Dodds magnetiser about 6 weeks ago and it works very well. He is an approachable man and very helpful. It cost over £100 pounds but it is a lovely piece of work. I used mine this morning when I serviced my 'Albert Hall' Locomotive and it's now running very well...

I ran my Princess Elizabeth this afternoon and it's motor is very quiet. I do agree it is a very lovely Locomotive. I do have an analogue set up. Pete.

Hello. I'm new to the Hornby forum and 00 guage trains in general. What I would like to know is if I want to buy a new Hornby train, how do I know if it's Locomotive or tender driven? I have read as much about new products etc and appreciate 'pickup' is shared. However how do I know where the main drive is coming from? I haven't looked through all the forum titles and if I'm asking a question that has been covered I apologise now. regards Pete S.
