  1. Thanks for posting the photos. I may well invest in one of those.
  2. Hi JJ, I looked at those but wasn't sure if it would be small enough. Do you have a photo of it on a train please? I've had a couple of cameras just that little bit too wide that they catch scenery.
  3. Not in my case as I only use the best SD cards because I am into photography (video and photos). The cameras just aren't up to it and don't always deliver what is claimed on the box. I have a Mobius and don't rate them personally but they are one of the best of a bad lot. 'Good results' is very subjective. I've watched a lot of videos hoping to find someone with really good footage but have yet to see any. Hopefully we will get that soon.
  4. Thanks everyone. I will pass these comments on to the organisers. Their lampposts arrived today so that will be next on the to do list.
  5. I have two of the locos and rolling stock. I am considering Tiger and have some figures for the coaches to paint. I collect Longmoor stuff, so I am immediately drawn to 'LMR'
  6. I have this model as I like Royal trains. The sound is good and it runs well. As stated above, adding lights would improve it significantly. It is on the long list of things to do. I show it in this video:
  7. It is personal choice but I always use a separate 12v supply for lighting and sound modules. I tend to go for 4A power adapter. For points, I use a 16V power supply and I never, ever have any issues. I buy 12v lights that have resisters already fitted and connect them via distribution boards, so no soldering is required.
  8. I have used 9"12" and 15" backscenes. The board I place them on is a few cms taller where it is screwed to the layout. I have used various glues and only this Monday helped a friend and we tried 3M Spray Mount for the first time. It is fantastic!!! I now won't use anything else. I've ordered another can ready for my new shelf layout that I am about to start.
  9. I have used a few but none of them although 1080 provided very good results. It looks ok but I have yet to find one that is good enough. I use 4k for the rest of the layout. I even tried a drain inspection camera for inside buildings grinning
  10. lol I thought Longmoor Military Railway with livestock :)
  11. Hi all, some months ago, I posted here about a dementia activity group that wanted to build their own model railway. Well most of it is complete now with just a few jobs to do. The group received several donations to support the project and several promises in writing of support that never materialised (all well-known companies). I have put up a video of the progress. This layout is all designed by the group and other than some help with electrical work, it is all their work that has gone into it. The layout can be DC or DCC or one track of each. The two tracks are independent of each other and one has more straight forward operation for those with more advanced dementia. Word has got out an other groups have asked to come and operate the layout with a view to potentially developing their own. It seems to be the first of it's kind in providing various therapeutic activities in dementia care. Current and former carers of people living with dementia support the project. Sadly, one member passed away before the layout was completed. Her memory lives on in the layout. 1 in 3 of us will die with dementia. This is a video of the layout.
  12. Sorry I didn't get a notification. Yes I am sure. As I said, I had already done it. I own four Hornby 73s and they all seem to be the same...Remove buffers and pull off the body..No need for any tools and loads of room for decoders and speakers.
  13. As others have said remove buffers first then it easily unclips. This was the first loco I installed the new Bluetooth chips in. They take the biggest speaker enclosure too.
