  1. I think I am right in saying that the LMS 8F would not have carried the maroon livery. This was for passenger locos only and freight engines were painted black. However, I am happy to be corrected on this point! There is nothing wrong with a 'what if' livery. For example, Rapido did this recently with their 15xx pannier tank, producing a variant in post war 'G W R' livery which they never wore, being introduced after nationalisation.
  2. Further to Shaun-365011's final post, I recall requesting a while back a Hornby-Dublo version of the class 52 Western, including a D1000 'Western Enterprise'. However, please give the option of small yellow end panels. And if you want a totally off the wall suggestion, how about producing a model of the pre-WW1 LBSCR overhead electric MU stock?
  3. No it did not. The artist responsible for the image was obviously asleep on the job.
  4. Hornby Dublo 'Western' class diesel-hydraulic please! Preferably D1000 'Western Enterprise' in desert sand livery with the option of small yellow end panels.
  5. Seeing that the resurrected Hornby Dublo range currently comprises locos from 3 of the Big 4 railway companies, how about an HD Great Western loco? A King or Castle would presumably be the natural choices commercially and a diecast King George V would surely be a commercial success. Alternatively, something slightly left field such as the 47xx 'Night Owl' heavy freight could be very tempting... How about it Hornby?
  6. Does anyone know the size of the production run of the new Dublo series of Scotsman? Can't see it on the Hornby website but that's probably my being insufficiently observant.
  7. Has anyone managed to work out the difference(s) between the two versions of the Turbomotive, R30134 and R30134X? Descriptions and illustrations seem to be the same, but there is a £24 price difference. Just wondering.
