Thanks for the replies, I've saved those stock numbers and I'll keep scouring ebay! I've found a formation guide on a suppliers website using the new stock, it mentions coach B, coach C etc. My coaches don't have that level of detail on, I also saw just the engine and rear carriage in my local model shop of the Intercity 225 for £235. I can't imagine this set retailed close to £235 back when it came out in 1992, and obviously it comes with track and two carriages. For the sake of my curiosity more than anything, do Hornby do two levels of detail in their models? Like are the trains in the sets lacking in finer detail like carriage numbers etc. (although still very good, I am so impressed with this train) compared to the locos and carriages you can buy separately, which presumably are more aimed at adult collectors?
