Has anyone managed to get their decoder working with a Samsung S5 phone (Android 6.0.1)? My 8 pin decoder would not link properly or reset properly. I'm using the recommended P9300 transformer and adapter cable. The app downloaded and installed ok. The app found the decoder ok and installed Bluetooth firmware update ok, but then failed on APROM firmware update. So it was in an inconsistent state in the app. No reset code was displayable in the app. Any attempts at loading a profile were met with 'Error installing sound pack ota_prepare startPrepareOTAmode error'. Hornby support advised me to reset the decoder with a special reset code. I did the reset in the app and it said reset complete. Although, the app never asked for a reset code (perhaps it doesn't all the time?) But after a power cycle of decoder and new scan the decoder was still in Resettable Devices instead of Linkable devices. I tried multiple times to reset the decoder and force closing the app, restarting the smart phone, deinstalling and reinstalling the app, each time power cycling the decoder. But the app scan still kept showing the decoder in Resettable Devices. The app never asked for a reset code once for all the times I did a reset, the app just went ahead and said it was resetting then reset complete. But afterwards the decoder was still in Resettable Devices even after power cycling etc. The app had all permissions and all location, bluetooth, wifi were all enabled on the phone. In the end I borrowed a Samsung S20+ phone and it reset and linked first time with no problems at all. The reset also asked for the reset code which the app never asked for on the Samsung S5. So posting this here to see if anyone had similar issues on older Samsung phone especially S5 and any suggestions? Anyway, the decoder is working brill with the S20+ phone and sounds fab!
