  1. Currently the HM7000 sound profiles list (and other docs) are here: https://uk.hornby.com/hm7000/hm-dcc-guides Class 47 expected Q3
  2. For the Bachmann 08 (32-115A) these values solve the issue for me. I don't see any logic in that at all. Unfortunately the same isn't true for the Hornby 56
  3. Interesting, the 'kick-start' speed notch comes down a tad to 37, but at the expense of the min speed which is a bit quick. Whack Vstart up to max and it'll move pretty much instantaneously . . zoom! But everything is zoom then 🙄
  4. Correct, Select is providing both power and control in DCC mode. All CVs should be default except Master Volume.

  6. Anyone experiencing odd behaviour with the 8TXS decoder where the loco won't budge until the speed reaches a particular threshold (46 on the app). Thereafter motor control is everything you'd expect. On the very, very rare occasion it will behave correctly from power up. Try as I might I've not figured a set of circumstances that might trigger this behaviour. This is true for both the 8TXS decoders I have for both Bluetooth App & DCC control (Hornby Select), class 08 and class 56 profiles, Bachmann and Hornby locos respectively.
  7. Bachmann Branchline 32-115A Class 08 Shunter 08021 8 pin TXS - Class 08 sound profile, smallest speaker enclosure, no keep alive, all good, touch wood. Hornby Select (R8213) DCC power source. iPad 6th Gen app host
  8. I guess if it were technically feasible this would have been done long ago, but I would be really interested to understand why not. Would it not be possible to separate the DCC connector from the controller PCB, connecting it by wire? Thereby potentially reducing the PCB dimensions and also providing greater flexibility for the positioning of it. I'd hazard a guess that it might just simply be a cost factor. Maybe even having a common controller PCB design with interchangeable connectors
  9. I have the TXS8 in a Bachmann 08 (Branchline 32-115A 08021) without any 'butchery'. Tight squeeze, but doable. Controller is vertical at the front end, speaker with the smallest enclosure is at 90° between it and innards, adjacent to the 8pin socket. I don't (yet) have the stay alive, but I'm sure that could go in the cab with a minor mod. for the connecting wire.
  10. A couple of eBay purchases later (one slightly unintended) I can confirm, as one might expect, that the app works fine on the iPad 6th Generation (2018) £80 & iPhone SE 2020 £55 Have to mention that the 4.7" display on the iPhone SE feels tiny (c/w my 7" Android regular phone).
  11. iPad mini 2 (IOS 12.5.7) 2013 doesn't work with the app. Hadn't read the general compatibility guidance re devices 5yr old or newer, before I bought it. That said, elsewhere, devices more than 5 years old are reported ok (iPhone 7 2016?) Wouldn't it be helpful if there were some clearer, reliable, guidance available?
  12. Assuming they are, what might be the options? I've read that Hornby have been pretty decent in the past addressing issues with TTS decoders, though I understand these haven't been in production for a good while now.
  13. Hi Chris, 'layout' is a simple stretch of 'test' track only. The 47 TTS works perfectly as does a 37 TTS. Chris
  14. Hello, I've just acquired two new TTS units and they're behaving most strangely. After being introduced to power both will stop responding to commands after less than a minute. They don't stop functioning they just won't respond to any new commands. Feels as though it's heat related, though the PCB doesn't feel excessively hot. Leave them five minutes or so un-powered and they'll be fine again. They're as supplied, no added insulation. Each unit has been tested in a pair of Hornby Class 20s and a Bachmann Class 47. A Hornby R8103 Class 47 TTS works perfectly. DCC controller is Hornby Select v1.6 Ideas anyone? Thanks
