  1. hello guys, Yesterday I received the Flying Scotsman locomotive I ordered here in Germany and today I let the Pullman drive it (7 coaches). I can't hardly wait when the tank wagons arrive and the first big freight train can be tested :)
  2. puh, and I thought I had to make them all black and white screamjoy
  3. @Rallymatt I finally have to use your black and white photos as a guide grin @Von Klinkerhoffe yes, right sunglasses it still gets the right color, that's why the chassis is missing (I also have to build the steering wheel on the left side sweat_smile ).
  4. I think Hornby was just trying to make a bundle or two quickly to meet the demand for starter sets for the newcomers to TT as the right starter sets aren't available ;) There is probably a greater demand that would like to be met
  5. nooo, i have pre-ordered :D I think Hornby only got one part so far, more will be arriving soon ;)
  6. Hello Guys It goes on again :) the point connection with the Tillig Flexsteg Points is ready. The curve superelevation is also appropriate (not too much and not too little). I think the remaining tracks in the visible area will be up by the end of next week :) Tomorrow the cutouts for the terrain and the viaducts will be cut. I'm also working on the first scenes for the system, I think everyone knows what that will be :D In the meantime all my pre-ordered cars have arrived (Mk1 and the Pullman) plus the Night Hawk which simply gives a great picture with the cars (and by the way, the Night Hawk pulled 11 cars with me without any problems). Patrick
  7. Luckily I got a confirmation for my 16 tank cars (ok, but they were pre-ordered) :D but this availability, yes - no - yes - no etc. is probably due to the incoming goods and the processing of the outgoing goods.
  8. Hello Guys, It will not work to provide the 08 plug and play with sound, but if you have manual skills you can equip even the smallest locomotive with sound. I know many TT railroaders who have provided their TT-Köf from Arnold with sound: Here is an example (not mine) Usually a Zimo is installed (and sometimes also engine conversion kits). one would have to wait and see how much space there really is in the 08?
  9. Hello, Tillig has 1.4 mm x 15 mm track screws for its tracks. Since the track is about the same as Hornby TT track, I think you can work with such screws :)
  10. Hello South Coast, you can use the Kuehn Coupler 74900 (24 Couplers) or the Tillig 08840 (8 Couplers) :)
  11. Hello Rallymatt you can find the following table in the NEM (Normen Europäischer Modellbahnen): https://www.morop.eu/downloads/nem/de/nem310_d.pdf where a minimum and a maximum size are specified ("gauge" and the TT). Some manufacturers don't think so exactly, although the track manufacturers are very generous and everything still works well. Most of the time, the wheels in the frogs fall off briefly or run up against the frog tips if they are not really flat. Some of the models also have axles that are a bit too wide or too short (not as in the standard). I haven't been able to find any real errors in my test setup with Peco, let's see how it is on the system then :)
  12. Unfortunately, many German customers who have ordered from Hornby have to pay the import sales tax + expenses from DHL extra because Hornby is unfortunately unable to carry out the customs declaration correctly and I have not received any answers to inquiries so far. Unfortunately, this statement has so far been incorrect (this stupid Brexit and/or the inability of the employees to declare it correctly). so you're paying double the import sales tax and Hornby is acting stupid :/ By the way, some German dealers are collecting orders up to a certain date to know an approximate amount. Then, hopefully, a delivery will be made quickly (I ordered a few models because the Hornby scam hit me very negatively right now)
  13. Hello Guys :) Yesterday I received the LNER Class A4 "Mallard" from Hornby. After checking the locomotive, I noticed a slightly bent part on the linkage. I straightened it with the right tool and it runs great. in my British TT layout it went further :) The points from Tillig have arrived, which have the flexible sleeper bridge, now I can place the points in the track curve and lay the first tracks. In the large curved track, I glued cardboard strips for the curve superelevation, now I can also lay tracks there.
  14. Yes, Hornby is very well compatible, the problem is Roco, who install their own coupling, Tillig, Kühn and everyone else uses the coupling like Hornby uses it. Incidentally, the construction of the BR80 is almost 20 years old :O but with new technology in the meantime.
  15. Thank You Guys :) @Rallymatt I only build it if I have to move or I'm going to an exhibition with the layout, so this solution is really great. Yes, you are right, I can see what the manufacturers in TT have here, if you knew what great accessories there are in TT, uiuiuiuiui :D @ntpntpntp Yes, I used to solve it that way :) until it happened several times that profiles were torn off during transport or the profiles including screws/nails sagged further into the wood due to a bump. As a result, the transition no longer fitted together due to the 1-2mm difference in height. Today I managed a bit again, glue the first cork strips and I also finished my Peco station building today :D
  16. Hello Rallymatt :D It looks great how your layout has developed, especially with the design of the landscape and the small scenes :) are you still weathering the rails?
  17. Thanks Matt :D Here we go now finally :D wuhuuuu It starts, I will describe everything, especially for beginners, and also write some tips on how to do it easily. Today I started to draw the radius and the course of the track on the base plate :) For it is important to make the curves as big as possible. For the curve on the left, I marked the middle, attached a screw there and attached the pin to the screw with a rope/wire to the radius I calculated (tip: leave space from the track to the edge of the layout in case the train tips over it doesn't fall off the layout right away). I generally put the tracks on the base plate beforehand to see that the planning or the track plan works the way I thought it would when planning. So I can also determine whether I need special pieces of track (like in my case I need a couple of flexsteg points EW2/3 from Tillig to be able to lay them in the track curve). Unfortunately, the right Peco switches are still not available from hattons :/ then I have to fall back on Tillig (also only because of the polarized frog which unfortunately Hornby does not have). So far it's looking pretty good, tomorrow I'll continue to paint the course of the track and glue the first cork strips :D by the Way: I use the small curves of the track as a reference, which is why the semicircles can always be seen in the pictures. Another little professional tip that I always use after a few investments. For modules or segment layouts, I use pertinax thresholds at the transitions. they prevent the profiles from tearing off if you hit something or get caught with your clothes during transport (very often experienced ;) ).
  18. Hello Guys :) After I was able to pick up the delivered Mk1 coaches on Saturday (unfortunately I had to pay an import tax on them :/ ), I took photos again today, this time on the right track ;) I think the maroon color of the coaches is the prettiest. tomorrow I'll start drawing the tracks on the substructure, then we'll start with phase one of the new layout :D Kind Regards Patrick
  19. @hobby For locomotives and wagons from BTTB/Zeuke you need the Tillig coupling No.: 08847, short coupling for slotted sockets.
  20. @Rallymatt pssst, I'm just noticing that the cotton is getting a lot out of the model :D although, there are also smoke generators for smaller gauges..... no no no I can't think about it when I digitize my locomotives, whether you still have them there what can do :O @ntpntpntp Yes, it is cheaper to chew cork mats with a thickness of 2mm or 3mm and cut the strips yourself (please do this with a steel ruler or aluminum ruler) and please fix the large cork mat otherwise the strips will be crooked ;) I'll be honest, I didn't cut the edges, you can't see that after the gravel anyway.
  21. hehe, I like all variants :D I have the black one here, one in gray and one in DSB paintwork (yes, one even made it to Denmark :o)
  22. By the Way, Rallymatt you already know that there was the V36/BR236 under the British flag? Although it ran in Germany, it was part of the British RCT :) I just remembered that this loco once existed as a BTTB model, if I'm not mistaken. no, its from Tillig (but its the old Construction from BTTB under Tillig) Number 02638 - https://as.rumia.edu.pl/tt/kat/katalog.asp?p=1037
  23. I'll put it this way, I'm a member of the Tillig club, where you also have "advantages" and I also have a good connection to them, it's a bit easier there :) I think your locomotive should be ready for use again at some point. Yes, you're right, it's better to take the object out of sight for something like that :D I know it all too well
  24. @Mercat I feel the same way as you :D I got a few booklets with track plans from Peco and try to implement them in TT with my track planning program :) I also like to Google for model photos of train stations in England to just get a little feeling for their layout.
  25. @dodge thanks for all the pics, now I can't wait even more for my cars and the Mallard to get here :D
