  1. I will be waiting a bit longer - Rails of Sheffield have my order. I doubt that Hornby would be shipping to the retailers early, so that the release date is consistent. I have still have three MKI coaches on pre-order with Hornby - no idea when these will be released. Hopefully in a couple of months time, so that the credit card has time to recover.
  2. I have mine on order with Rails of Sheffield, so not sure when they will get there allocated stock from Hornby.
  3. This model repaint looks very good. I am in awe of your skills and confidence to alter from one to another. I will have to wait until Hornby bring out the versions that I like from the era. However, in the meantime I am having fun developing the baseboards, track plans and layout. It's funny that I didn't want a blue 08, until it was withdrawn from sale!!!!
  4. I really liked the video. i will give this a go sometime down the line. I am still at stage where weathering by my own hand seems sacrilage to a perfectly good model!! I do like how others achieve the results though.
  5. Hi Charlie 66 - the figures are 1:120th scale. There is adrop down menu which gives a veriety of scales to choose from. I bought this pack of 5 at Warley in November.
  6. I like the sweeping curves shown on this element of the layout.
  7. A really great set of images. I am big fan of High Fell MR. I noticed that you have some oil storage tanks near the dockside. Where are they from? i have bought some TT120 scale tanks and pipes from DPAR 3d but the tanks seem small when alongside the TTA tankers.
  8. With several really good posts relating to layouts being started, I thought that I would take the plunge and let you know what I have been up to. I started building the baseboards for my TT120 layout over the winter to be located in the garage however, plans are now to convert the garage into a room. This has resulted in the baseboards and build neing put on hold until I have a shed cleared out. I have been busy making models for the layout though: 1. PECO GWR signal box 2. PECO GWR goods shed The A4 William Whitelaw is sitting on a board that I made up to practice my scenics skills. the track is a single length of PECO flexitrack. the trees are my firat attempt with seafoam and scatter. there is also a PECO N scale backdrop behind the board. I have not made any models since I was in my early teens and I have really enjoyed building things again the figure is from a set made by ModelU and has been painted by Dan Evason of Tunnel Lane Model Railway The landrovers are the Oxford TT120 range I hope that you like the images
  9. This layout is looking good. i have the Easterner set and was going down the late 1950's timeline. However, the HST is the train that I have always liked (similar to you, I think) so I now have the 125 and a rake of coaches. I also cancelled my pre-order for the Princess steam loco and pre-ordered the class 50 and a rake of coaches. i have migrated to the 1970's/1980's for the model railway. I will be very keen to see how you get on with your build
  10. I have ordered the BR Blue with sound, Leviathan, too
  11. I like the base board construction method. The layout looks like it will be intereting to operate too.
  12. what hunt couplings are vbeing used on HST rakes? I don't know much about them, are they magnetic?
  13. I have this problem too with the power/dummy car not coupling very well. As I am still building the layout I have only been running the power car on 1 metre of peco flextrack to test it but is back in the box until later. I will be looking to see if there are easy fixes for when the MkIII coaches arrive.
  14. Thanks for letting me know about the running numbers. for a while I thought that the factory had put two power car bodies in the train pack. I will also need to find out about the headlight configuration 2/1. I am assuming that there will be correct way to show the headlights. this was never a problem with my OO HST train set (with one coach)
  15. I have just been running my DCC fitted TT120 blue/yellow HST 125s. I have noticed that both units carry the same class number 254 004 on the front. Surely they should have different running numbers?? Doe anyone else have two traction units with the same number? the E numbers on the side are different (E43062 / E43063)
  16. this looks like a very reasonable alternative to cutting off the female jack plug
  17. Thanks Rallymatt, first time using the forum too, so unsure of where things are. I will try the PCE powercab route first but i don't want to blow up the Decoder I am fitting to the A4 William Whitelaw at the weekend.
  18. I watched this yesterday and was smiling all the way through the video. a great chat between Peachy and Macstrains
  19. Being a newbie to the hobby , I have a question which may be a bit odd but hope that someone can give me an idea on how to get power to the tracks while using the HM7000 system. I have bought the Hornby P9300 DCC power adapter and want to contect it to the Peco track via soldered wires. Is it possible to cut off the jack plug, and then conect the lead to positive & negative wires soldered to the track? If I bought the R7324 15v power supply adapter and cut off the track plug, that would be the same. I also have a new PCE Powercab that I bought at the Warley show in 2022 (before HM7000 was anounced) and don't know if I can use this to power the track and just use the HM7000 app
