  8. i just watched sam's trains you tube post in which he talk about hornbys steam punk range and the TT120 model rolling stock while it was great and very well made but who wanted in the first place hornby should stop these bad ideas he said the concept of steam punk was a very bad idea . in the next breath he said the same about TT120 and who would buy it . he did say that it had not faded away yet as people had thought it would but who knows in future and the sale figures must be bad but he did not know how bad they were. he drew usual comments about TT120 in the comment section yum
  9. hi renoir it might be a small link but it did set a wheel or bogie in the uk i do like piko locos very well made and they run very well , when i started with TT i purchased a tillig set to see if i could work with it being smaller a scale than oo and ho and i built a german layout back in 2020 and i was over the moon when hornby announced it was going in to TT120 ,i joined the club straight away in oct 22 i am going to use your baseboard idea to build a uk layout when i get my class 66 i might get a trago or a flying scotsman soon
  10. hi renoir nice set i have got one of these piko loco myself i will have to get the container wagons as well in the future, i did look at them but i will keep my money for the anold container wagons, have you seen the tillig train sets £106+11p+p about nice loco and different wagons per set hornby could lean a thing or two from them nice low price no vat ,slightly_smiling_faceps vat would add about £21 two the price still good valueblush

  13. the world is a rip off people just think it is ok to do it and companies are just as bad i would like to sell my oo and ho stock to get more tt 120 but the trade in was £35 when the loco cost £120 four mouths are go at the same company hat i will not name them .. that is just one deal sleepy
  14. thank you mikemart it pays to look around the internet for company that make tt small to start but tt 120 will grow the more we buy of it more they will make and stock happy ttblush
  15. hi mikemart where did you get them and how much did they cost thanks happy tt blush
  16. hi scf i did not pay any vat on my item just export price and p+p if they had add the vat i would have been over . i think they do sell gift vouchers £20 to £80 could use it to keep the total price lower than the £135 i would like to get a piko vectron but they are £150+. i like the look of the piko br131 that you just received it has a plux16 decoder socket to very nice for the money i might get one in the next visit to the site or some tilig wagons i wish it could be both short of cash i like the arnold container wagons very good price no vat you cant buy them on hornbys web site any way have a look at the tilig train sets nice loco and rolling stock the track look like kato and the controller is for better than hornby and at a nice price happy shopping at msl thank you happy tt blush
  17. hi scf i just received a tillig train set for £107 p+p was about £11.00 from germany what is the £135 vat threshold. how does it work the prices you pay are less german vat at 20% so i thought they would add uk vat at customs that would make it about £139 and i would have to pay extra fees i am sorry for asking but i like buying tillig and piko locos from germany but i try to keep it under £95 +pp now just in case they add the uk vat to the order thank you happy ttblush
  18. hi too tall i was very happy when hornby announced they were going to release tt 120 has i have got a tt 120 layout . but with all the trouble to get them to run around the bends and going back three or four times to hornby for a variety of things has put me off. i joined the tt 120 club in oct to get 15% off+points i thought great 9 mouths have gone by but i am still to buy a loco sorry, a steam loco that is. i have got two class 66s on order i would love to buy some steam locos i nearly got one but the price went up. it will cost me a lot more to buy the ones i want . extra money or going back to hornby what will it be. will i be lucky to get a good steam loco if i buy one now?
  19. we railway and railroad enthusiasts that have taken up tt 120 , would like some locos that run great and not cause us so much stress , piko make nice locos in tt 120 i have got some i bought them back in 2020 and they have been no trouble . roco tilling arnold they all make great steam locos and rolling stock . so what if they decided to make british locos will they be better than -------tt120. i did not say the name. i bet they would be very good with a great mechanisms and fine running qualitys . hornby should ask arnold for some help to sort things out and make better tt 120 models i look forward the comments yum
  20. hi rallymatt who is the brand manager i am in the same boat i joined in the first days so i will have to rejoin in oct i have got two class 66 on pre order plus the bush inn so the 15% plus the points would be worth the £30 to keep the class 66 at £87 instead of £102 plus £8.70 in points 14000 members give us something to stay 14000 *30= £420,000
  21. hi rallymatt great photos now i can see the extent of your layout . and your track plan helps , i like the photo that show all of the layout and the window at the far end. did you say that you are going fill the open area with some scenery around the viaduct it would look nice with rivers and little valley some can be deep and some small hills should be fun and lastly how big is the room grinning
  22. grinning hi rallymatt . i will do that i started my tt layout 2019 but did not get very far but i did get some tilling train -sets and locos at the start of that year . but had to stop for a time because of covid could not order trom germany for a while . my layout has two boards. board a is 2 meters by 1 meter and board b is 2 meters by 1 meter, are joined short edge to edge short board a it has a tail chaser on it with three siding and a branch line. the branch line goes along the outer edge of board a , across a river bridge the river is on board b and takes up 8 inches in width and the river is a meter long across the board from outer edge to inner edge the line goes along the out edge of board b and turns 45% across the board to the inner edge of board b which is against a wall so it has the river to the left hand side has it goes across the board to form a rail goods depot and river dock for river barges to unload it looks like a stretched six that is 4 meters by 1 meter the boards are held together by lose pin hinges and are easy to take apart so when i build board c i can make it different maybe longer and has long has i join the short edges to together or i can lose the river its up to me. cant wait to get a class 66 got one on pre order for £87 not bad plus 870 points=£8 70 happy me grinning
  23. thanks rallymatt some people were moaning about sk at hornby a lot at the start of tt 120 , lt would not sell and it was the size has n and you could do more with n in the same space , so why buy it but he was right about it selling and tt club discount it was better to give it to the club members 15% plus 10% and not to the retailers, some people want the world . why is it not in the model shops has you say dealer margins and we all have to pay more , on a litter note highfell looks great i have not looked at you posts for a week or two highfell is come on a treat i like the names lowerfell highfell i was going make joke you could name a small station fellover on a branch line, i have had a german tt layout for four years and was very happy when hornby start selling tt 120 , best of luck with you layout grinningthumbsup happy tt
  24. hi rallymat yes very simple maths i think i am getting old it took me three goes to get it right .it is about £29.50 pounds for the discount and 1,650pts or £16.50 so that is about £46.00 i think i am right i have never been good at maths
  25. hi david i thought oxford was part of the launch at the start when simon was talking about tt120 so why is it not in the club tt120 discount scheme you have to join the oxford club to get the discount . free delivery on first order helps a bit l hope your tt120 is a good experience yumps arnold ferry van twin pack £65.00 . i just seen them at 42 euros and 12 euros del 60 euro=£52.60 if you order more its a win win delivery is the same if you want ten packs but you got to keep the value below a £136 if you don't want to pay import tax
