  1. I have had issues with the pace car and turned out to be an app issue, changed to magic ARC and no more stuttering. If your using magic then it is likely a connection issue, make sure you run jumper cables.
  2. That is great, good to hear! That is how to build a solid business.
  3. Hi Kevin, It is indeed a MR1 micro chassis, any AFX tyres fit. You can also upgrade to silicone. I have Tyco, MR1, AFX, Micro Scalextric, bulldog etc. Slot cars direct stock tyres and they are cheap. Just search slot cars direct and go to page 2-3 of products. I have just built a HO Porsche 911, lexan body silicone tyres, non mag 👌💯. Highly recommended.
  4. You can always buy light kits from Magnetic Racing or Slot Track Scenics. These look amazing but cost a fair bit. DIY is a lot cheaper. The kits come with everything you need including wiring diagram and all connectors.
  5. Don't worry too much, having fun is the most important thing!
  6. I really want a rally layout but have committed to a circuit layout for now. That will change though, thanks for the inspiration, let me know if you change it!
  7. Love the track, you need a jump but not really got space on that layout. Bet that is fun to run. Great job 👌👍
  8. Hi Kazza, Any braid should fit, you can spread braid and shape it to any position. I like the the thinner braid, you can buy a load of Pendle slot racing. The braid on that car pictured looks fine to me. I would use some lighter fruid on a cotton bud and clean up any old braid first and go from there, only needs replacing if it is really bad. Have fun!
  9. MB use straws and cut the tops and shape them the LED sits at the top and wire goes down and through baseboard. Paint the straws and job done.
  10. 100% the best track are the ones that flow. Often the Jadlam type figure of 8 tracks with lots of track aren't great for racing.
  11. Hi Tom, The track has low grip levels so make sure you true and treat the tyres. Use 3 in 1 oil, get the tyres very soft and they will grip fine.
  12. Contact Scalextric for support.
  13. Sorry Andy, Magnetic Racing
  14. As in the video game nature to it of the rally stages, having that on the TV whilst racing will hopefully be a great addition. Full details of the new app haven't been revealed so I hope it turns out to be a success and hopefully compatible with other gantrys such as MR.
  15. Who else is looking forward to this set? It sounds like a great product that is better than spark plug and more interactive than ARC. The potential to use this on expanded layout is very appealing, I am happy that they have taken this direction.
  16. Sounds like a missing piece, if gaps appear then it usually means track length isn't correct. There should be no tension throughout the layout or gaps. Did you get this sorted? Because Scalextric track moves you can in theory make some tracks work without the correct number of pieces, I have done this but you then get gaps appear. When I move my large track slightly no gaps appear, your mention of the single pieces and pit lane sounds like it could be this.
  17. Scalextric need to bring back online racing! Surely a option with ARC? Why not join Global Racing League (GRL) next year? Hit up Rahul at Conquest on YT.
  18. I haven't had any major issues, Scalextric Sport track isn't the best track system out there and if I was starting over again I would probably switch to Policar. I like the track clips that lock track pieces with Policar. Sometimes the track comes apart because it is well used and you need to bend the tabs to get a tight connection. Other common issues are the connectors need replacing or tightening. Track can also need cleaning. If cars are stuttering then it is a connection issue either in the track, braid to track or wires to the motor. It is all a big circuit at the end of the day. Braids need to be shaped, spread and conditioned / cleaned. You can also switch to copper or racing braid. I build cars from kits or scratch, had issues with cars stuttering and had to fault find. Being able to carry out maintenance of the track and cars is essential in enjoying the product. Just like a real car they require maintenance, motors can give out, tyres need replacing, gears break, track needs cleaning or treating against corrosion. I keep my Scalextric track outside year round. All the sets use the same track, from the cheapest to most expensive.
  19. I have broken one before, not an issue as I never keep the original wiring.
  20. I thought It was a good release, something for everyone.
  21. Hey Haroon, You can get a whole wiring loom off ebay with the contacts. People usually rip the wiring out and replace it so these can be found fairly cheap with the dpr connector too if you need that. Probably looking at £5, not sure if Pendle sell these as spares. I have taken most of my standard wiring out as people fit aftermarket guide and wiring as an upgrade. You can always upgrade or replace as standard.
  22. Older power supplys could be better where each lane is powered and it has 3 wire controllers for breaks too. A complete custom power supply with aftermarket controllers is also an option for lager layouts but you should be fine with those two sets together.
  23. Hey James, Not familiar with spark plug, but I would suggest trying to download app on a few devices like phone / tablet and trying to connect again. Try deleting the app and downloading again / pairing. To test the cars make sure the braids are making contact with the rails and bent down at an angle. Put a 9V battery on the braids and the cars wheels should turn. Sounds like a connection issue though with the app. It could well be one of the dongles is deffective. Reach out to Scalextric by email with the fault and they can assist.
  24. Hey Ben, You can buy light kits for slot cars. Not sure how confident you would be wiring this up and modifying the cars but this is the cheapest option. Building reward points up and also look at sales items is a good way of getting some nice cars. Other brands of cars sub £30 have lights that are affordable and work on Scalextric track. You can also look at going to swap meets / UK slot car festival and picking up some bargain cars with lights.
  25. Pretty common for wheels to sometimes come off Scalextric cars as they are just pushed on to knurled axles. Super glue but only a tiny amount should work. I'd your looking for a better driving experience and grippy tyres an axle swap would be a good shout with some new wheels and tyres.
