  1. Thanks, I keep seeing things I could do better on it. One day I might redo it, but that is one of the good things about the hobby, you can learn and improve. I started from scratch, and can see the difference between my first builds and what I do now.
  2. Thanks for that, love to see different layouts. If you are interested this is my layout so far which I started just under a year ago. Like yours it just has one loop with sidings.
  3. Totally agree about the need for better quality paper, and it is quite expensive at £6, but the free magazine had some TT stuff in, so I was glad to have it.
  4. I wonder how many of us started in the hobby by watching 'Hornby a model world' and getting excited by TT120? Can this be our 'me too' moment?
  5. I received my prize from Peachy's competition, a clock tower, now painted up and looking splendid outside the main station.
  6. The wagons are down to £15 in a sale at Hattons.
  7. I've had my TT layout for a good few months now, and had my Trigo running around. I haven't done anything in terms of track cleaning or maintenance on the loco. As quite a newbie, should I have been? If so, what? Do others ever do much?
  8. I asked a chap on the Hornby stall today when we were likely to see a new smaller steam loco. His reply was, it wasn't in the initial batch of releases, which we knew, but expect announcements in April. Which is quite a while off. If anyone is going on Sunday, please try and press for more information.
  9. I've also found the community on this forum to be very helpful to a newbie like myself.
  10. I have a can of spray glue in my draw, does anyone know if it works for static grass? I have quite a large area to cover.
  11. I got my first Peco wagon, a little disappointed. The yellow paint on my Coleman's strayed beyond the side of the wagon. I have had problems fitting my Hunts magnetic couplings. I actually snapped the coupling and will need to glue it on for my wagon to function. Obviously I'm delighted other companies are producing TT, but hope they are better quality.
  12. Hattons have got the full range at £17.06 each. Well priced I think.
  13. I have been working on my main station. Inspired by Huddersfield Station, however by skill set, means it will only ever be inspired by, not a model of.
  14. When we were children, the game was, the first one to see the sea. Now we can have, first one to see a Peco Wagon!
  15. I emailed Peco at the weekend to ask about their Wagon, and when it would be available. The reply was it was released to shops last week and is now available. Has anyone seen it, and knows the price?
  16. I bought them after watching Peachy's video. They are wonderful and easy to fit. I really struggled with the Hornby couplings, so I found these the perfect answer.
  17. I have made a tunnel, to go by my cliffs. Ground work to follow.
  18. I got the dreaded email too. It seems poor business management, if you tell your customers your order has arrived in stock one week, and the next week, you tell them they had accepted more orders than stock, and you couldn't fulfil what you said. There was no offers of alternatives or discount for the disappointment. Shoddy customer service.
  19. So looking forward to my Easterner arriving, glad I got my baseboard up last week.
  20. Step 2. I have a baseboard set up, I have covered it in felt, standing on IKEA legs. I have put on it the things I have scratch built. Now just need Hornby to get my train set in stock and out to me, so I can really get going. Any ideas on what I can being doing while I am still waiting?
  21. I want a back scene for my new layout. Does anyone produce backscenes that look right with TT scale? If not, do people recommend going with N scale or 00?
  22. I am a little bit behind most of you guys! Even though I am still waiting for my Eastern set, I thought lets get started.
  23. I am eagerly awaiting my Easterner Train set so I can actually get started. I am trying to plan, but am getting confused. Do you get Track Pack 1, with the set? The web page just says an oval, but doesn't have a photo of the back of the box, as some sets seem to show a small spur. If you get Pack 1 with the set, I can order Pack 2 knowing I can get my sizes needed for my baseboard. If I had a layout with all the Hornby extensions, does anyone know what size that would be? You would think that would be on the website, but it isn't.
  24. Someone gave me as a present the kit to make a TT scale bandstand. It looks good, but needs to be in a 1950's or 60's style local park. I have material for grass and bushes, however it needs more than that. Has anyone any good ideas, ideally scratch build items, to give it that period Corporation Park feel?
