Lunchtime visit to Redcar Models & Hobbies. Wanted to ask about the RNLI Shannon (apparently coming out next week) & pick up the airfix North American mustang starter kit. Been wanting one but then saw manns model moments video review of the new starter kit so that forced me to get it before they disappeared! Also got, from the second hand pile (nearly all still new), a tamiya luftwaffe winter crew & a fairey firefly Mk.I by octopus (have since found out it's a hard kit to do!) both for £10 each. Then get home & a deal pops up on vinted. Managed to get five 70s kits (mostly new or just started) for under £26! No chance that each RNLI station could sell kits with just their decals? Seems a waste to include 49 I wouldn't need.

Sort of kit related! Visited a flea market yesterday & there was a massive vinyl stall. Most stuff was new ex-hmv at very cheap prices. They also had a table of used vinyl for £1, which is where I got this (& wife got the jungle book & Mary Poppins soundtracks).

I've added this to my stash as I love the unusual! One video I saw said that there's still an error in the instructions, making you fit a piece incorrectly (if I remember right). Was that the case? This also popped up on my YouTube that you may be interested in. His videos of beat up corgi/dinky toys are amazing! Great to watch & chill out too, especially as it's no talking, just the sound of the restoration.

A charity shop find. 4 star wars Revell kits, tie fighter, tie interceptor, x-wing & millennium falcon, all new & sealed for £4 each (hobbycraft sell for £7)

I was buying something from amazon & needed £10 extra to spend to get free delivery....... So 4 £6.99 model kits fell in my basket! I got Bren gun carrier - airfix vintage classics Sd. Kfz.234 armoured car - airfix vintage classics 25pdr feild gun & quad - airfix vintage classics P-51D mustang - revell Did have an issue, the mustang was factory sealed but without any instructions! Contact amazon & getting a replacement sent & also keep the original. That's a win for me!

Just been out spending my birthday money (3 years away from half a century as my brothers & sister gleefully tell me!) & popped into my local store, Redcar Models & Hobbies. I picked up the land rover starter set I'd been after, but in their used section there was this bizzare plane! A blohm & boss bv141b (airfix 1/72 from 2010) for just £10! I had to get it because it looks so unique with the cockpit to the side of the engine. Not only was it still sealed inside, it also included a sealed set of eduard masks!

Stuka? We're all sure that was the one in the half price black Friday sale when airfix also did double flying club discount & you had so many flying hours that it was virtually free!

Just been to Lidl & ALL the middle of Lidl (excluding food & black Friday) is 50% off from today until the 8th. This also includes all Christmas decs. I just for the tiger & firefly for £3.49 each & a quick build spitfire for £3.99

Are you sure you took out the right subscription? It's just I took it out last month after buying my first magazine & the Web address took me to the offer listed in that mag (free eduard FW 190a & binder) but if you just went to their website in general then it wasn't listed. I received my kit & binder within a week, before my first magazine & before they'd even tsken payment!

Back to a different tk maxx (which also had the revell model T roadster) where I got a revell PT-109 patrol Torpedo Boat for £12.99. The a vinted bargain, £14 for an airfix avro Lancaster B.III.

Trip out to metrocentre in Gateshead yesterday (wife & mothers idea! They also needed an ikea fix) so on the way up we had a detour to the north east model centre for the first time...... Wife's now banned me as it was too long a detour along country roads lol Picked up a revell 1:1200 titanic (to make for the wife) for £8.99 & an airfix vintage classics jaguar 420 for £13.39. My pick of the day though was when we got to metrocentre & in tk maxx they had a few revell 1:24 model T roadsters for just £12.99!!! These are in with the Christmas gifting if anyone else is looking.

I'd like to know as well! Trying to think of things for my wife to get me for Christmas. Something like this would be ideal as I wouldn't know what I'm getting! I'm also looking for an alternative advent calendar for myself. Last year I got tabletop gaming magazines baord game advent calendar. It was £250 but you got 25 wrapped presentz to open, ranging from full board games to accessories.

I'm just getting into modelling at 47 (after some poor attempts in my early teens!) so been buying some cheap kits to test with. I had wanted the bond bug but my local, Redcar Models & Hobbies, hasn't had it in when I've been. Went to York on Monday so visited Monk bar model shop........ I left with the bond bug (and the LOVELY bright orange paint!) italeri - willys mb jeep, academy - light vehicles of allied & axis annnnnnndddddd...... The new airfix hovercraft that literally got delivered as I was shopping in the store! Last week we were on holiday in Orlando & had a trip out to an antique mall. It was huge! Lots of Disney memorabilia obviously, including old Disney hotel & park fixtures & fittings, but I did find one stall which had model kits! There were plenty of kits I could have bought but I had to thing of space. I did however buy 2 small old kits, a airfix focke wulf FW 190d (In a clear plastic tray with cardboard hanger/instructions) from 1973 & a pegasus supermarine spitfire f22/24 (in a plastic bag with cardboard hanger) from the 80s both just $5 each!
