  1. Thank you for those very helpful detailed steps, they will give me a good start but I won't pluck up the courage till after new year when Christmas distractions have died down. Many thanks
  2. Thanks for your reply, I'd done a rough scale on the amount to cut out and realised the location was crucial and I need detailed research to get it right so would appreciate any help. Peter
  3. Hi Kiwikev. What a good idea, I never thought of converting Suffolk to Exeter, I've wanted an Exeter in 1/600 since I discovered I had a relative who was a marine on her when she was sunk (fortunately he survived to be a POW) You did mention in one of your posts that you might provide some plans, if you did that would be great to start me off following your brilliant idea? Peter
  4. I agree with sailormans comment about the satisfaction of scratchbuilding, I have partially scratchbuilt hms Glorious on an airfix hms repulse hull and am quite pleased with it...but I plan to make another one only better.
  5. HMS Exeter in Pacific configuration in 1/600 scale to commemorate the tragic sinking and the disgrace of the wreck salvage. HMS glorious aircraft carrier with gladiators and hurricanes in 1/600 configuration when sunk off norway , would fill in a gap of British carriers being one of the first, no doubt one of the 2 current ones is A likely option as well A class destroyer 1/600 with options of HMS Acasta or HMS Ardent to complement Glorious above and historically fit against Scharnhorst / Gneisenau relaunch 1/72 Whitley mk5 in colours of Special Duties 138 squadron with drop canister load, as used to help French resistance, this would compliment Lysander model and commemorate brave pilots of the "moon squadrons" One can always hope
