Amera/Airfix 1/76 D-Day beach head

Amera's S131 Airfix D-Day Coastal Defence Fort base alongside their S226 Coastal Assault with S228 D-Day Bunker and the Airfix A05702 D-Day Coastal Defence Fort. There is a Heller Pak-40 in the bunker. I can't recall where I got the beach obstacles from, but I scratched the long hedgehogs. There are a few Revell and Matchbox German figures mixed in with Airfix German Infantry, Paratroops and Mountain Troops, and Airfix British Infantry and Commandos.

I have been building models (scale 1:56) inspired by my memories of Airfix models from my childhood and turning them into articles for a wargaming magazine. Having covered the gun emplacement and the pontoon bridge I'm now doing the coastal defence fort and would love to find out anything about the model (designers involved, history, your memories, etc.) Waiting for the original kit to arrive today so I can start doing my version. /media/tinymce_upload/906054885800edaf303d93cc298fe854.JPG

Hi,

The models I use are scratch built in scale 1:56 and the figures are 28mm. The Airfix models are only used for reference, not with the figures. I include what information I can find about about the original models in the articles as well as photos of them with original packaging, etc. Arthur Ward helped me with info for the first arcicle but I have very little info about the coastal defence fort. /media/tinymce_upload/8a974667f35b22df4c958124dc80d532.JPG
