Chrissaf
Hi Can you give me a couple of recommended shops in Spain that specialise in Electrotren 1/87 equipment. Especially those with used/second hand stocks. ThankyouCharles Harris 😀
SteveM6
Try this website:www.palauhobby.netThey used to have a shop at the top of La Rambla, just off the Placa de Catalunya in Barcelona but have recently relocated - I used to visit them every year but haven't tried the new shop yet. The old place was more like a museum!
Chrissaf
Charles, It would be very helpful indeed if you could try and put your posts in the appropriate Hornby forum section. This 'Hornby International' section is designed to cover Electrotren products. Apart from which, your posts relating to "Hornby International Brands" if placed in this section will be visible for longer as it is slow moving..This is the second post of yours I have moved to this forum section../media/tinymce_upload/6a59463088fd88c4be4b2f7fb2611a51.jpg
bill7437
 Charles:- Two other retailers you could try Basar Matey in Madrid - they have been around for a long time www.matey.com and also the wellknown duty free shop in Andorra Basar Valira www.basarvalira.com. Having said that I think you might be better trying US retailers for the Amtrak versions, Maybe Reynolds. or even a small ad in a US journal or even Continental Modeller. ellocoloco
Hi Charles, There used to be a useful listing of retailers on the Electrotren website but this has sadly passed into history. I would suggest looking at the Mabar website (www.mabar.es) which has a list of their stockists. (Puentos de venta on the right hand side) By my reckoning, every retailer who stocks a smaller supplier like Mabar will also stock the market leader – Electrotren. This should lead you to websites and addresses and has been very useful to me in the past. I have ordered from Rocofort and Cavall de Ferro in Barcelona and also Basar Valira with no issues other than high postage costs. I have bought from ebay Spain on a number of occasions again without problems. Most of my stock has come from Comercial Mikado and Hobbies El Fallero in Valencia, which I have bought in person and these are the only two Spanish hobby shops I really ‘know’. Both are worth a look if you are in Valencia. As for second hand models, in my experience it is not so common in Spanish model shops though there are monthly ‘markets’ in both Barcelona and Madrid that you could investigate but I am yet to visit. If this is for the Talgo, remember Marklin/Trix also sold the German version – I suspect made by Electrotren – and there are a number of these on ebay Germany which might be worth a look. There is currently an Electrotren Amtrak Talgo listed from Canada but is priced at €300 which is silly, but perhaps suggests it is an unusual item.
