Trainboy and company
Hello all. Having owned the R260 clockwork Thomas and the R9287 electric Thomas, I personally think that the clockwork Thomas is better in many aspects. One of the main aspects as to why I prefer the clockwork Thomas is that it is more television accurate in comparison to the electric Thomas where size is concerned. The clockwork Thomas has a shell similar to that of an Ex Industrial 0-4-OT, from what I know of. The R9287 electric Thomas looks nothing like Thomas, in my opinion. Who else agrees that the clockwork Thomas is better?
walkingthedog
If the original Thomas was an 0-6-0 and the clockwork one was an 0-4-0 it can’t be more accurate surely? I do like clockwork locos.
NWR-Gordon-4
I do prefer the electric Thomas range over the clockwork, but the clockwork is collectible these days, but so is the electric range. WTD, Hornby released an electric range 0-4-0 Thomas, but it was exclusive to three different train set's. These were made and released in the late 1990's.
