Howbi Posted February 8, 2019 Share Posted February 8, 2019 Bought a new Zen mini 8 pin decoder for a new Bachmann 4MT.........Elite failed to re-address the decoder, took it back to my local model shop (AGR) who replaced it.........Replacement had same problem.......I was using Elite programming menu ie Loco-Direct-Address but this decoder would not respond but then it occurred to try CV1.........this worked immediately and the decoder accepted the new address.........never had this hiccup with any other make of decoder.........you learn something new every day........... 😆............HB Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

96RAF Posted February 8, 2019 Share Posted February 8, 2019 Another tip is if Direct programming does not work try Paged mode. Takes longer but sometimes wrangles an awkward decoder into line. Urban myth - you can’t change a decoder address on the main...You can if you know the old address then change CV1 to the new address value.
