Connecting Rod Screws / Bolts

Can anybody advise where it would be possible to purchase a selection of the very small screws & bolts that are used to connect the connecting rods and valve gear to the driving wheels on Hornby steam locomotives, especially Coronation Class locos.

These were included with the connecting rod spares packs but such spares are now proving extremely hard to source and, if found, are at extortionate prices.

I have just acquired a spares pack at great expense and promptly lost one of these bolts whilst connecting the valve gear to the center drive wheel using a nut spinner. It dropped onto the work bench and no amount of searching has yet found this tiny little screw / bolt.

To be able to purchase a supply of such screws / bolts would be a real joy.

@david - can you please confirm the parts you are looking for apply to a live steam model and not an electric driven model as you speak about centre driver wheel.

Live steam models are driven by the pistons not motor and gears.

If you mean electric driven then this post will be moved to the General Discussion area where it will generate more appropriate answers.

In the meantime you should download the associated service sheet for your model (check R-number) to find out the part number/s of the items you need.

Hornby did not produce a live-steam Coronation so this appears to relate to an electrically-driven model. To know which screw(s) are needed, it would be helpful for the loco to be identified by its Rxxxx number. As the screws came in a pack with the coupling rods it is likely to be China-made, but is it loco- or tender-driven?
