The results are in...

We are delighted to confirm that out of over 2,500 entries, the final votes have been cast, and both the winner and runner-up have been selected.

This beautifully lit image of one of the Lightning Preservation Group's aircraft at Bruntingthorpe has won runner-up prize, captured by Belgian photographer Kris Christiaens on one of his regular visits to the UK.

Marking a special occasion, as the very first winner of the Airfix Aviation Photo Awards. Without further ado, the winner is….

And the winner is...


We are thrilled to reveal the first winner of the Airfix Aviation Photo Awards. Congratulations Russell Powney on his superb capture of the iconic Lancaster!

When speaking to Russ about his photo, he told us that he was rather taken aback by the attention and for a man who describes himself as being strictly amateur in photographic status and just someone who loves taking pictures, he can't quite believe that he won.
