Rana Temporia
I am not sure if this is the right place to ask but can anyone recommend a book on detailing French electric locomotives from to 50s to the 70s? I have quite a large number of models by Jouef, Hornby Acho, etc. but know absolutely nothing about the prototypes other than the voltage(s) they use(d) and the areas they worked in. I have them purely because I like the look of them. I have always detailed my UK diesels and electrics using some of the excellent books on the subject but a search hasn’t shown anything for the French equivalent. I can understand basic French so as long as it’s not a complex engineering description without diagrams I could use a book en Francais. Any pointers would be gratefully received. bill7437
Hi Rana, suggest you have a look at the Rail Miniature Flash website they have a number of excellent books. French books are expensive but informative. Also La Vie du Rail ( owned by SNCF ) their Material Moteur series is pretty good but not cheap and covers most motive power. There are other publishers such as La Regordane and Editions du CabriTake your pick !!!!
