That looks like fun! I don't have nearly as much equipment as you do but I could make a go at it. I even have the same hanger! It might be confusing, I myself got confused thinking there was a bunch of stuff going on while I was asleep.

It's a super backdrop isn't it. I also have a variety of USAAF support vehicles. One day I'll do a shoot with them.

They were set up in my modelling room using pictures of local airfields as backdrops.

good looking set up ratch with the hanger, throw some different era planes in together and the vehicles and it would look like one of the hangers from a museum like duxford

I don't think a fully armed aircraft would be hangered but what can I do?

Hi Ratch ,

these are CMK Special hobby figures. They make a few little resin sets and I think they are a good supplement to my Airfix sets.

I do need to do some touch up on them , the camera shows all the defects.

I’ll pose a group of them with the Airfix sets soon.

I'm always looking for more RAF staff cars and types. I currently have four. What would a group of aircrew ride out to the dispersal in ? American Jeeps?

Randall, I converted it from the Emergency Set fire engine, scratch-building the back part. IIRC its in AIRFIX magazine guide 27 Modelling RAF Vehicles ISBN 0 85059 261 5

Hi randall its a great setup with them working on the engine, since its armed think of it as needing a slight engine alteration before take off

I've got a few vehicles to build at some point but they will be straight out of the box as these will be the first I've built.

What do you use when scratch building and where do you get it from ratch, maybe you could do another thread on this and go into a bit more depth. im getting some great ideas from you and randall and would like to know more on this sort of thing and where to start with it all

I get things like plastic card from my local model shop. You can also find it on e-bay. Some things (like transparent sheet) are salvaged from packaging. Sometimes I use bought plastic rod, sometimes I stretch sprue. As your modelling experience develops, you'll see things all over the place that you'll think may come in handy and start hoarding things.
