Which upgrade?

Recommended Posts

So my son (soon to be 7) was given the Ginetta Pack a year or so ago. C1412M Scalextric Ginetta Racers Set

He is keen to upgrade to be able to use the ipad and add cross over track etc, but I was unsure which pack is the best to look at.

I have found:

C8434P ARC AIR Upgrade kit - Powerbase and speed controllers - European plug

C8434 ARC AIR Powerbase & Wireless Controllers Upgrade kit

C8433 ARC ONE Powerbase Upgrade Kit

And wasn't sure about the differences between each one.

Thanks for any advice

Hi There,

I love the look of the Ginetta cars!

ARC ONE will be discontinued soon. It was a lot like an ARC AIR but it lacked the wireless controllers and a few features (like pace cars).

IN general I think you should go with ARC AIR:

In order to get the ARC PRO features you have to add a "digital chip" to each car and by "digital" lane changer tracks which all add cost. You can also race up to 6 cars at once...

If by "cross over" you mean digital lane changers then you should go ARC PRO.

Analog cross overs (must be used in pairs): https://uk.scalextric.com/products/scalextric-racing-curves-track-accessory-pack-c8193?

Digital lane change track:

C8434 and C8434P are the same. The plug is only different.
