1/350 HMS Illustrious to HMS Ark Royal

I would like to re-configure my 1/350 scale Hms Illlustrious to Hms Ark Royal.

Has anyone tried it ? im not sure on the exact differences between the two ships.

If someone has done this then please post some pictures on how you did it, there may be not much to change but as i dont know, im putting the question out to you all.

There doesn't seem to be any regulars here who have attempted this Ian but there are some articles on the subject on the Britmodeller site.

Good luck, and some pictures of the end result would be welcome.

Not sure if anyone has done an Ark Royal. There are hundreds of gallery features, but the search function for this site seems to just go back to google, so it might be a case of trolling through each year which is pretty painful. I can't see an Ark Royal from 2019 onwards, you could try looking earlier. A few people have done models of this class of ship including scratch builds by people who served on them.

Thanks for reply guys, hope i dont spent more time on research than building. But that is something i enjoy anyway. Ill keep you informed as to when i start it and how i do. I also have the 1/350 Ark Royal (91) WW2 to build, so im keeping busy.

I haven't modified one but it looks like major surgery will be in changing the refit 12° ski jump on Illustrious to look like the 12° ski jump on Ark Royal. Ark royal's support structure under the ramp doesn't extend down over the hull so there's a bit of hull rebuilding to do.
