Update old installation

I have an old scalectric from 1982 with a transformer TR1 of 12V (Not Working), and two hands control (Not working) and very large circuits black tracks. Now I want to up date the system.

Could you tell me the elements to replace to get the installation up and running.

Hi Jose,

Do you have a Hornby Scalextric system or a Spanish Scalextric that is also known as SCX?

In general, unless the track is in very good condition (use an Ohm meter) it isn't worth the time and effort to clean up old track except for for pieces that have no modern equivalent (Goodwood chicane and pitlane for example).

Getting the old track to work though is simply a case of using the C8222 conversion pieces: https://uk.scalextric.com/products/converter-straight-x-2-c8222

And any modern powerbase of your choice..
