Alanburford9101
Hi I bought a used Flying Scotsman where the rear end of the tender raises up from the track. How should I adjust the drawbar to allow the tender to be flat on the track? Alan
LTSR_NSE
@Alanburford9101 - if you can post a photo of the drawbar/connection to show exactly which version of Flying Scotsman you have - that would aid better solutions.
atom3624
It sounds as if the drawbar has either been bent, or has been replaced the wrong way around. Al.
Alanburford9101
This is what it looks like. Should I bent it upwards to get more pressure at the rear of the tender?
LTSR_NSE
Yes - the drawbar should be absolutely flat between the two screws. 👍
atom3624
Drawbars are cheap to purchase, but be careful - only bend slowly and little-by-little. Totally agree, should be flat. Make sure also the bar fits over the should of the screw and tighten as so - permitting free movement of the drawbar - looks like it me be jammed under the shoulder of the screw in the photo, might be wrong.
