flyingfox4475
I have just recieved my Cock of the North LNER P2 2-8-2. This is a fine model although it has a 3 pole motor which works well it does not respond to my controller untill nearly a full wack before it move off. I find it does not start as well as my locos with the 5 pole motor. So I think the use of 3 pole is a bad move.I have run the loco in on my rolling road for approx 2 hours in each direct and then put it on my railway and found it starts with a jerk before moving off and as I said above it does not start to move untill the controller is at full power it makes slow running a bit of problem. poliss
Sounds more like it needs lubricating or has a fault than anything to do with the 3 pole motor.
The son of Triangman
I agree sounds like a dodgy P2, take it back to the shop or contact Hornby Customer Service
