  1. I have just come on the web site and have been looking at the forum and find that it does not work as well as the old one.
  2. I have tried using the Hornby 20mm magnetic pipe couplings and compaired them to the Hunt ones I have used . The Hornby Pipe couplings seem to measure the same as the Hunt ones. Although the Hunts have to be turned upside down to couple to the Hornby's. I have yet to try the 17mm ones but think they may be to close and cause buffer lock.
  3. My Hornby 4478 Hermit A1 LNER 4-6-2 arrived a couple of weeks ago. Very smooth running model and very happy with her.
  4. I went to the Great Model railway show at MK. While I was there I bought the new Turbomotive 6202 LMS loco. Very impressed with her. runs smoothly. So far no faults or defects noticed. A couple of weeks ago I had the New Castle Class loco from Hornby. It is smooth and good runner.
  5. I now have all 4 P2's, all run in and tested and I am very happy with them. They are well detailed and run very well. All pull my 15 coach train with some wheel slip. On a train of 10 coaches they all run well no slipping wheels. All I need to do now is to sort out the running of my 2001 Cock of the North from 2014.
  6. In the last week I have added to my LNER fleet, 2002 Earl Marischal, 2003 Lord Presdent, 2005 Thane of Fife and 2007 Prince of Wales all the new P2's 2-8-2 models. Which are excellant models and run very smoothly.
  7. Hi Lee, I was only running a 15 coach train to compare the pulling power of Thane of Fife. It wss happy to pull 10 coaches. Most of my coaches trains are formed of 5 coaches due to terminus station only able to accommodate with loco.
  8. I have had to contact Customer services at Hornby last week, on the telephone and confirmed by email. My email was responded to within a couple of hours and I found them very helpful and consider my interaction with them excellent.
  9. It seems last time Hornby had CEO from outside the Model Railway world a number key staff left and things went pear shaped. It was also the last time Simon left and now it seems a new CEO has brought the retirement of Simon and Montana has left to pastures new. When Lindan became CEO he was with Simon the Driving force behind Hornby's upturn and great new models. However, time will tell with Olly Raeburn as CEO.
  10. My new P2 2005 Thane of Fife has arrived and I have tested it and run it in. It runs extremly well and is very smooth. It is a loverly model and show just how good the P2/2 were with the A4 front. I have tested it pulling 15 coaches and it does not pull as well as the early P2/1 Cock of the North, without wheel spin. It does start the train with wheel spin but keep moving around my Railway 2nd radius curves. It still has the same problem on 3rd radius as it will still spin on starting the train. My P2/1 Cock of The North does not have any problems pulling the same 15 coaches. However I am very pleased with the model.
  11. I have today received my first P2 R30130 Thane of Fife and like the new boxwith the Loco packaged with foam. I am now looking forward to my next 3 P2's R3985 Lord Presedent 2005 and R3984 2003 Earl Marishal and R3963 2007 Prince of Wales.
  12. I have in the last 4 years or so I have pre-ordered with Hornby. I used to use local shops and one of the big box shifters only to have them cancelled because all orders exceeded the amount of the models to be produced. Then I missed out on loco's I wanted. I was very lucky my local model shop had ordered a few more than he required for his customers and was lucky to let me have one that was to go in shop stock. I have just had 3 email's to say my pre-ordered P2's are in stock. As the saying go when waiting for a bus , then 3 come along at once.
  13. To my surprise my new Hornby LNER A3 Harvester arrived today. Once I opened the box to my surprise Hornby are supplying a loco crew with the loco. very happy to see this. The new loco has been modified since they released of Doncaster and Knight of the Thistle with a new front bogie and new connection between the tender and loco body. I will see once I have completed my running in process how it performs on point with the new bogie. The little bag of spare parts for fitting included the front step as well as a front coupling to go on the front if you want and the usual spare flanged wheels for rear pony truck + cylinder pipes.
  14. A blue box V3 2-6-2T and have just had an email from Hornby to say my A3 Harvester is in stock and will be on it way to me soon.
