  1. In the past I have used paypal for pre-orders but it doesn't appear that you can do it now.
  2. I have to speak with Customer Service, because I haven't had points added for items I have received in November. So it appears that there is "a bug" in the system. On close inspection one of the items is not shown on the list of completed items, Whilst another doesn't show anywhere on the rewards list.
  3. This is unfortunate to say the least. Recently I had purchased very few items from Hatton's as their prices for used items were far to expensive, particularly when they had faults. Additionally because they let me down on pre-orders that I placed, where they oversold their allocation, but not letting me know until the models were released and they didn't have the stock to meet all of the pre-orders. By which time items were sold out everywhere. Until then I had used them exclusively, over a 3 year period I spent more than £9K with them. So I decided to only use them when they had the items actually in stock except their "own manufactured" items. All my pre-orders were then placed with Hornby direct. With my club discount the price was about the same as the big box shifters in general. So will I miss them, well yes, but not a lot.
  4. Many thanks to everyone, I will give Hornby a call.
  5. Hi everyone, can anyone tell me if when purchasing club exclusive items whether or not they are eligible for reward points? I recently purchase the club standard 2MT and it does not show in my pending points list.
  6. @threelink, funnily enough, I had a problem quite recently with a flat screen TV when the plastic casing suddenly burst out in blisters. When pricked a liquid oozed out. The TV was still working but stopped shortly after the discovery. I was told that this was a problem with some "phenolic" plastics. I don't know if this is the same problem that you had.
  7. Just taken a look on ebay, and there are loads of 21 pin blanking plates you can get 10 bachmann ones for around £13 or 2 for around £8
  8. @Yelrow, Hornby may say that they don't monitor this forum, but I bet they do.
  9. @ LT&SR_NSE, no sometime posts mysteriously disappear. I wished to refer to a post about the Turbomotive upgrade and when I went back to the thread the post had disappeared. I suspect that at times if Hornby don't like the post (for some reason) they have it deleted.
  10. Actually Charlie, didn't say that money was at risk if you pre-ordered. Mind you I think he and others seem to have a problem with Hornby and will take every opportunity to criticise.
  11. @Peachy, I think the correct term is helices.
  12. Once logged in, website appears to "remember" that you are a club member and automatically allows you to order exclusive models.
  13. I received my sound fitted Easterner last week think it was Wednesday or Thursday, my carton no. was 180/440, I doubt however that the sets were despatched in carton order.
  14. My experience with shipping/delivery is as follows: You get an email from ccl-logistics saying your item is despatched. (what this means is that that the item has been picked and awaiting collection). If you use the link in the email to track, you will probably get a message saying that DPD have been advised of a parcel but that they haven't received it yet.You will not hear anything else until the morning that DPD will deliver it, when you can track it. The delivery time slot that you get is usually pretty accurate. If you are not going to be in, you can divert to a neighbour, have it left in a "safe" place, or arrange for it to be delivered another day. Generally speaking DPD are pretty good, but they won't hang around for long while you get to the front door. I tend to look out the window until I see their van "just in case". Hope this helps.
  15. Today I received the above model, which is a streamlined P2 it is a lovely model. I haven't had time to run it yet. One thing that surprised me was the packaging, Hornby have changed to a style that I normally expect to see on the more prestige models, such as Hornby Dublo diecast locos. I wonder if Hornby intend to pack all their locos like this in the future. I hope so as it is far better than the usual cardboard sleeve that they use, being more durable etc.
