uksqueezea
Most of the buildings in this one are scratch built except for the old Scalextric Grandstand which I was only able to get half of ( Roof missing) I use them to put in the background to add some atmosphere to the shot. They all have a home on another layout and I just borrow them when my 7 year old is not looking. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/uksqueezea/IMG_4573_zpsh2ap09zb.jpg

uksqueezea
You can pretty much do anything with Scalextric cars, with a little thought some great additions can be including in any layout. Heres a photo of an old wooden bridge I built, notice how the boards run in the direction of the car travel, done this way in the early days...until they worked out when the boards broke and speared up through the cars so they started laying the boards across the bridge,! Not for this bridge though.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/uksqueezea/stpatsarmidale130.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/uksqueezea/stpatsarmidale164.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/uksqueezea/stpatsarmidale161.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/uksqueezea/IMG_6545.jpg

uksqueezea
Dont be afraid to add in a really big feature. Plenty of people build a track the gets as many twists and turns in as is possible and so much of the track appeal is lost. Sometimes less track equals bigger "Wow" factor. Added this water feature in to this little track. Its floor polish poured into the quay / about 4 coats. Water ripple look is done with a hairdryer blowing on the polish just as the last/ top layer begins to harden. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/uksqueezea/IMG_1546.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/uksqueezea/IMG_4315_zpsaa3521ed.jpg
Waresy
that track looks lovely. Dont think I will ever get to that level. I'd like to be able to get some basic scenery and other buildings added to my layout once I have a board/table to put it on permenantly. What are the best places to get quality 1:32 buildings and models from. Scalextric only have the 4 models to add so gives a limited effect. Hopefully this will be added to over time.

Andy P.
All very lovely. Looks like you have copper tape on the rails. Does it have coductive adhesive? Is it on each piece indivdually (looks like it) or did you you pu it across pieces?
andyslot
The copper tape came on a roll with with it's own sticky back to it.Never crossed my mind the adhesive might not conduct but it all works fine. Ther are a few joins in it here and there were the roll ran out or I got a little ham fisted with it.Never had any issuse before with rails but it does seem to run smoother all taped up.
